I agree with everything you said. I do think he really loved Manuela too. But yes I think Mayte always was very special to him. I did see the Arsenio clip you were talking about and I saw what you saw. My heart ached for him. It was a pretty uncomfortable moment.

I think his marriage to Manuela was strictly rebound. I know it was strictly rebound. There is NO comparison between his first marriage and his second marriage. Prince had just experienced what he often publicly described as the love of his life, he'd never loved another woman the way he loved her, kindred spirits, his soulmate, his eternal love, the woman he was destined to have a family with, the woman he wanted to grow old with, the woman he'd been in love with for thousands of years. What type of relationship do you think he would be jumping into within months of he and Mayte divorcing? Let's be real. Did you see the press conference he gave explaining the state (end) of his marriage to Mayte in 2000? Could you not see the hurt, sadness and disappointment written all over his face? Did you happen to listen to the album he wrote shortly after they divorced? It's unfortunate for Manuela but it was to be expected. The stories I could tell.

I don't know, from Mayte's book their marriage sounded like absolute hell at the end there. All of it sounded extremely painful. I wonder why Prince didn't reconcile with Mayte after Manuela divorced him.

I still think he loved Mani very much though. She is a very beautiful and intelligent woman. He seemed very happy when he was married to her. I believe also yes he loved Mayte very much also and obviously she was/is very beautiful.
