Thanks Latin! Good interview! She didn't talk much about Prince and focused mainly on her personal life and projects.Seems she doesn't want to talk about the projects they did together in her recent interviews.No mention of Superconductor or AOA.

In spite of all that, Prince still dominates the lede paragraph. That said, Andy is super talented and I can understand her not wanting to focus on Prince too much, lest she not be taken seriously in her own right. She has to walk a tightrope in this regard. There are some Prince fanatics who will point to any mention of P by her as evidence that she is "cashing in" off his memory and if she doesn't mention him, she will be accused of trying to distance herself from him. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

Thanks for sharing, Latin! I agree, pink, that this is a good interview...and the photos are fabulous. The girl is gorgeous!! With regard to Andy not talking much about Prince, I think she just answered the questions that were asked. When P was the subject of inquiry, she responded. Same token when it came to PP3 and her career. In my estimation, it is good that she is not name-dropping Prince.

Yes,I agree.Questions about him are bound to come up and people will be fascinated by her connection to him.I'm surprised she hasn't been asked more personal questions at this point especially by radio DJs but people have been respectful so far.Andy spoke a lot more about him in 2014 and 15 and she always mentioned Superconductor and AOA but things were different then and she knew Prince was probably listening and wanted him to know she was proud of the projects they did together, I suppose.In the interview from September 2015 that Jamie Starr News posted on YouTube she spoke more openly about him and I think it's interesting that after saying she was partial to Oui Can Luv and that she hoped the acoustic songs they did together would be heard one day,Prince released the album a month later on Tidal and played it for the press as well.I hadn't heard the interview before and I wasn't aware she had said that prior to the release.There's a more recent video on Youtube called The Andy Allo Experience from when she was in Nigeria with the US Embassy in June and she spoke a bit about working with Prince and it seemed like it was difficult but she spoke very highly of him.In her interviews in Australia she was crying when speaking about him and it seemed she didnt want to dwell on the subject.At the Dakota in April,she said she didnt want to say too much "For fear of having a complete meltdown"so she seems to still be having a tough time too.

Wow. Really, I don't think she will ever "get over" Prince. Just look how those of us who didn't know and love him on a personal level are still hurting. I can't even imagine her struggle. That's probably part of the reason she doesn't talk about him or their music too much unless asked specifically about it. Plus, there are insensitive people who use words like "pimping" and "cashing in" with regard to Prince and his associates. Granted, some are guilty as charged, but I really don't see where Andy has done any such thing.

Lastly, I am going to look for the Jamie Starr interview. Thanks for the heads-up.

Very true..There's a new Q&A out with E News and the article does refer to her as Prince's protege and has a brief overview of their work together and they used a photo of them as well.She wasn't asked any questions related to him though.

I think the fro is gone for good.I like the shorter cut but she does look better with a bit more length on top.
