I know after that crap that came from the divorce docs she deserves no attention.

Writing all kinds of crap about him on her Facebook page when she was a greedy golddigger.

Pretending that still talked when Dr. Funkenberry said he had to relay message to Prince about the school because he would not speak to her. In fact he said he stopped speaking to her altogehter before the divorce papers were filled.

Dudes who burn shit and stop talking to their spouses do so for only a few reasons both these chick got skelatons in the closet they are not sharing. It takes two people to make a marriage go bad. All stories have two sides.

I am not even going to go into Mayte and her racist buddy Dave. You are judged by the company you keep and the stuff you do.

She can keep that ugly China but she could not keep her son's urn!!!!

"Dudes who burn shit..", which fucking one is it??!! On the Apollonia thread you just stated that in your opinion, Mayte burned her own stuff. #DELUSIONAL

Furthermore, on an interview this morning Mayte stated that the Ahmir's urn was not given to her in the divorce. We all know P kept Mani's immigration papers in a "safe place" as per unsealed divorce docs, and you yourself stated "P had a jealous streak a mile long"...so exactly how do you know he didn't "keep" Mayte's stuff to be just as spiteful.

I would like to think that he had the ashes buried in an unmarked grave (no media attention) with an angel as a marker. How does one look at the urn of their child’s ashes day to day? And I would think the vault was for happier memories, his music life and legacy.

I dunno. You could be right.

Yhis may sound crazy and I didn't know P, never met him, only saw him in concert and stuff...BUT...I have a feeling deep in my soul that the urn is somewhere safe and he didn't harm it.

I wish I could prove that, but obviously I cannot.

Haven't they drilled open the vault? I wonder if we'd ever know about what was kept in there. It seemed like the place where he would keep the outmost intimate and personal stuff away from people within.

If there was a denial of award then there must've been something that still existed to deny awarding...so the urn still existed at the time of the divorce...it had to still exist in case the judge awarded it to her custody.

So, that would mean that it wasn't destroyed, if it ever was, until later.

Hmmm...

I never said they were stolen.

I don't think they were stolen, not in the traditional sense, anyway.

But I do think they were taken and...kept...for want of a better word. Kept away from Mayte deliberately.

Burning an urn in a backyard fire wouldn't destroy it. To destroy metal? No way.

A fire that would destry an urn would require too high a heat to accomplish in a safe way in someone's backyard. Think about it.

Context. So They are trying to start afresh (Mayte is, Prince is going along) and decide to move to Spain. Mayte is fine with it, she's used to moving around, being a military brat. It's also a country with a language she speaks, there's a big culture for dancing, she is in a good place. She waits for Prince, who comes occasionally. She's building up their home (yes, china and all, Laura!) and Prince is visiting sporadically, but never staying long. IMO, the urn would be the last thing to take with them, in the sense that it would be a fresh start away from painful memories. The urn could be left in PP, a place filled with memories of their child. It would be safe. She had no reason to worry about it, it was in PP, her home too. But then Prince comes less and less often. ANd it dawns on her that she is, like she states "the girl on the way out", having seen Mani with a diamond incrusted symbol and fearing the worst. But she believed she could make a home again, and waited patiently for her man. Only too late she realizes Mani is already in, along with Larry Graham and his faith, now Prince's faith also. Mani seems to be studying this faith also. She is clearly out of his life now.
So... the urn was left at PP, cause she never went back.
I actually find that pic of her looking at PP from the fence quite moving. It's not only Prince's memory in there for her....

Well thought out and very good points made, MMJas. Makes sense. Don't forget about the handshake, as well. Remember that?

I, too, thought that photo of her was very moving. Her pain is almost palpable.

I, three, sad

This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

I can't imagine wanting them. Weird item to steal.

Can't imagine anyone outside of mama and daddy who'd want a child's remain, maybe the grandparents. Given the circumstances the only living person who has rights to them is Mayte, anyone else stole them in my book. That really would be kind of creepy, wouldn't it, taking somebody's baby ashes, ew? Maybe a sibling but it looks like there is opened communication with the exes and the siblings so I don't see why she wouldn't have simply asked them.

He could have burnt them, people do weird things, it's not out of the realm of the possible but it would be something I'd validate if I were the mom and I were deeply pained by it. Personally, it doesn't bother me if he did or if he didn't, it's not a holy, sacred or priceless relic, it's ashes, that's a personal issue between the parents to decide how they want to say goodbye. An odd choice I'd admit, but personal. I only feel bad for her because I know what it would imply to me.

Must have been an interesting, somber bonfire, I know that. Not one I'd want to attend even as a fly.

That Urn could be anywhere she does not have enough sense to ask about it.

Really? As stated earlier, she asked for the urn and it was not awarded to her during the divorce proceedings per interview today

Interesting. I'm sure they gave a reason why. Seems an odd move on the court not to award a mother the remains of her child.

Agreed it's an odd move, unless he stated he "didn't have it"...which was not discussed, and only supposition on my part. All I know is when she answered the interviewer's question she simultaneously raised one eyebrow in skeptical disbelief/side eye then answered "no, it wasn't given to me in the divorce"

Oh, okay. I'm not making an effort to keep up on these interviews, they pretty much repeat the same thing over and over again. It's a book tour, and I've already bought the book so what's left to hear her say beyond, I don't know.

If there was a denial of award then there must've been something that still existed to deny awarding...so the urn still existed at the time of the divorce...it had to still exist in case the judge awarded it to her custody.

So, that would mean that it wasn't destroyed, if it ever was, until later.

Hmmm...

hmm :hmm2: hrmph

Something more is to all this than what's being assumed, I know that.

Guuuuurl...

Somebody has that urn.

I'm not religious but there's got to be a special place wherever bad people go in the Afterlife where someone who would take the urn/ashes of someone's loved one, especially a child's remains.

neutral

Prince did say in that interview some of his stuff was stolen. But how can the urn be stolen if mayte says Prince had it and burnt it.

__? But she did not see him do anything and notice how this part is getting ignored. The truth is she has no idea what happened to that urn.

Isn't this the kinda the topic that got the first book thread locked? Let's forget the urn.

.

Someone knows something. Hopefully she will find out one day. Right now there is no one for her to ask or no one willing to part with thatinformation. One can only hope someday she will find out.
