You call my assessment an “attack” just because I think Prince was not at his best artistically and personally during his time with her. lol Wow.. If you read my post, you would see that I also suggested he may have had some other things going on behind the scenes that he was trying to sort through- possibly unrelated to Mayte as I didn't mention her name in that sentence.

Anyway, there are two sides to every story and I’m just not buying hers. Her side is not gospel truth like some of you assume. There are lies mixed in with some truth. I don’t have an emotional attachment to her like you and some of the others on this board. I can see behind her "love story", veiled attempt, to get attention and $$. I'm not “Team Mayte” whatsoever, but I don’t hate her either. I'm not pretending Prince was perfect. He had flaws but we already knew that we didn’t need her to throw him under bus with her insinuations.

Yes. It is. An absolute attack. You responded to a post that disagreed with my opinon that his work during the Mayte era was lauded. Let me refresh your memory with the exact verbiage. This is what Laura posted: 4) He certainly did not write his most lauded work when she was around. His carreer took an upward turn after she left....to which you responded, "I agree"! No emotional attachment. I simply empathize with this time in Mayte and Prince's life. I have feelings....those things that make one human. I know you have no love for Mayte. It's glaringly apparent. That's why your incessant participation on a thread ABOUT Mayte confounds me. But, I get it. You are team Vanity. The numerous threads about her are positively dripping with hearts and flowers and candy. Do you see any participants from these threads over there posting disagreeable content on the regular? Probably not. They are entertaining, though. Everyone is so busy tripping over themselves to kiss TOB's azz. It appears as if you tell him how positively wonderful, kind, thoughtful, etc. he is he might reveal a morsel of info about Denise no one has heard. The woman, btw, who demanded an outrageous amount of compensation for her participation in PR. To which Prince apparently replied....nope, not worth it so buh-bye. Not even batting an eye. And the "insinuations" are yours. She is simply sharing events as she remembers. You are interpreting things from the book based on your bias. EDIT: Typo....an absolute stickler about those. [Edited 4/7/17 18:38pm]

So I guess if people disagree with you, it's an attack? That's right, I'll say it again- Prince's music during his time with Mayte was NOT his best. None of the albums he put out when he was with her, were top grossing. You can go look up the information yourself. I stand by my opinion fully. It is MINE and I'm entitled to have it. I don't give two cents if you think I'm attacking.

Calling your bluff that you don't have an emotional attachment to Mayte. You will defend her to NO end and can't even see straight. There is NO objectivity in any of your posts about her, none. Yet, you flame everyone that disagrees with you? You're right I could care less about Mayte because she's a lying, GOLDDIGGER. I participate in these threads because 1.) I am FREE to. 2.) someone needs to keep the conversation balanced. 3.) because I'm a Prince fan- this Prince.org NOT Mayte.org.

Yes, I have GREAT respect for Denise/Vanity. She TRULY loved and cared for Prince for the man that he was. She knew him right before he became a superstar. She prayed for him and wanted the best things for him. She walked away from him and if you know anything, the amount she asked Prince for to do PR was big because she needed an excuse to leave him, fed up with the harem. Why don't you try reading up on it. She was offered big $$$ to write a tell-all and dish out all the dirt, but she chose not to out of RESPECT for HIM. Something your pal, Mayte knows NOTHING about. So yes, peg me a VANITY STAN because I am that and not ashamed. She was not perfect, but turned her life around, which is commendable and admirable. What has Mayte done in the last 20 years of her life? As far as TOB, no one, not even me needs to kiss his ass or ANYONE's for information. Yes, I have encouraged him to share as he sees fit. It's up to him and when he does, I am thankful and appreciative of the sharing as he is not obligated. Another thing, you and "team Mayte" seem to bring Vanity up in these threads constantly. It's BAIT if you ask me.

It's not my fault you can't understand that Mayte made all kinds of insinuations in her book. If anyone is on attack, it's YOU.

NACN response in bold, dark red text...

No another person who does not know what they are talking about.

1) There are no false claims most of the info is in the public domain and has been posted on this site many times. I am speaking directly to the org members posting false claims in the thread. Examples as follows: -vashtix Reply #179: the man tried to kill himself while married to her and expecting a baby. He was not a happy man in love. Just saying. P -TOB Reply #155: I still question the bases of allowing the annulment -bibrose reply #131: Nobody is disputing Mayte's memories; however, when she makes factual statements that are not true they need to be pointed out to her. A case in point is the video of the song "The Greatest Song That's Ever Been Sold" which she refers to as a "down and dirty" video that P made with a dancer from the Crazy Horse Cabaret place in Paris. The video is not "down and dirty". That is her opinion. The video was beautifully made

2) TOB claims he has evidence that Vanity and Prince stayed in touch until 2012 and you heard what Prince said at his Oakland show. Even Jill Jones said Vanity was the love of his life. Jill Jones knows this how? She also claims Prince broke her wrist. Can't believe YOU think Prince was violent like that?!

3) We do not doubt he cared and loved her Mayte but people can fall out of love just like they fall in. " I Love You But I Don't Trust You" listen to the lyrics. He wanted to be an open relationship with her, he left her in Spain, he openly ran around with Mani. He was all but hitting her over the head that he was no longer in love with her. I do not to this day think he tried to kill himself I think he drank too much wine and he even admitted that he use to drink too much in a few interviews in the late 90s. Opinion based on nothing but supposition.

4) He certainly did not write his most lauded work when she was around. His carreer took an upward turn after she left. Please.....The Gold Experience, Love Symbol, Emancipation. You are saying this output is sh*t? I think it's brilliant.

5) She was the one during interviews, being a reality show and bitching about not getting free tickets to his concert in L.A. I never heard him say one peep about her in public. And Mani said on, the very public platform, FB that she hoped Prince did not pull a "Charlie Sheen" or some such bull. Where's the outrage for that?

[Edited 4/7/17 13:18pm]

What is the false claim? Mayte talks about this in her book that Prince took a bunch of aspirin and wine and had to go to the hospital to have his stomach pumped. The stupid nannies went to the media with this story saying he tried to kill himself. We do not know what really happened but this was in the media back in the late 90s.

We are still questioning if there was an annulment just because it was put out in the media. Nothing false about this.

There is nothing dirty about TGRTEBS. The video was shown on all of the commercial networks if something dirty was going on the video would have gone to the playboy channel. So what in the hell is Mayte talking about?

Jill was at the Vanity memorial that Prince was at and she spoke to him at the service. She talks about this and her relationship in a podcast a few months ago. I can post it if you like. I do not think she is making anything up about being at the memorial or their long relationship and knew Vanity and Prince as she was one of the other women he was seeing when Prince was with Vanity. Nothing false.

A man openly running around with another woman is not my opinion. He is was already putting M2 in place while Mayte was in Spain. Mayte even admits to this in the book. Have you read the book?

Those recordings he made with Mayte were probably recorded 3 or 4 years before they were released to the public. Prince was 3 or 4 records ahead so I doubt she had anything to do with those recordings. He made more money and had more popularity after he left her. He was not selling out 20k arenas during the Mayte years.

Plenty of people on this board have attacked wife #2 even going back to when fans saw him parading her around at Paisley Park. This has nothing to do with anyone posting untrue comments.

Again, I find it odd that people pointing out facts and how they contradict Mayte's assertions is somehow hateful or vilifying her or an attack. If I told you the sun sets in the West and your eyes stay East, I have no emotion attached to the obvious. It's simply a statement of fact. If Mayte feels this is a "loving act", I feel very sorry for her. And the public, who read these posts, need to have the facts related as well. HIS fans owe him that much.

God is my Sugar Daddy.

What did I miss? I did not realize TOB mentioned that about Vanity and Prince and what was said in Oakland? You know I enjoy the friendship that lasted decades and leaving earth within weeks of each other- I do not want to derail this thread but I had to ask.

Well the mods did away with Tob thread but he shared that Prince and Vanity communicated via mail and later e-mail. Vanity left him a lot of stuff and he has not had time to go thur it all. He thinks Prince may have paid her medical bills. As far as the Oakland show he said they both loved each other very much and that Beautiful Ones was written about her. Jill is the one that said he took her death very hard. .

Yes, I was in on the thread the mods removed. It was interesting discussion about Denise/Vanity. I thank you for the clarification about the Oakland shows. The Piano and Mic shows he did quite a bit of remembering the 80s and Denise. I learned much about his feelings. Rare of him to be so open.

I need to start another thread on that topic. I do not want to derail this one. Thanks for responding.

The discussions about M1 and her book really has brought emotions out of so many of us. It is wonderful to empathize and feel for someone's misfortunes in life. Everyone has misfortunes if they live long enough. I do not think myself or anyone else hates M1. I know my issue with her and the book has much to do with her timing. She deliberately wanted to hijack the first anniversary of Prince's transition. The conversation is all about M1 right now. The decision on releasing the book says so much, so much more than words. I am not trying to offend here and not hating just stating what is happening with the decision to bring the book out and do the media blitz now. 12 months out of the year and M1 chose April.

About TOB, I am one of those who began posting when TOB began to post after Denise transitioned. I empathized with him when he spoke of Denise . It was his loved one's passing and questioned aloud how to mourn and what to share. I too lost a sibling way too soon and that pain is not one words can do justice. If showing compassion is kissing someone's ass than I will do that because that is how it came down at that time.

I think there were discussions on those Vanity threads and agreeing to disagree on various things.

You do not have to be rude to disagree ; there is a conversational way of doing it with infantile arguing. TOB shared what he wanted and what he did not share it is his to keep. No one is cajoling or begging. I admit I did beg for the ending of the AMAs story he started which he never completed, that is the only instance. I did enjoy what he chose to share about Denise. I learned more about her and I find her courageous, fascinating and BOSS.

I am right along with Purplegirl00 in my respect for Vanity/Denise. This woman turned her life around. She needed medical bills paid and she NEVER profited from her time with Prince for it. In fact her book was Blame it on Vanity and she did not ever lay blame or side eye to Prince. She was a Boss and owned her life-the drugs, the men, the ego. She owned it. She did not try to conjure up pity or blame Prince or milk the Purple Kingdom for $$$ when out of all the women save for Sheila E. I think Vanity deserved to be the one to milk it- Purple Rain was about her and Prince. It was their vehicle and she made NOTHING from it. . . imagine how much love and respect Prince had realizing that her love was pure not about celebrity, fame, or money but she loved him. No wonder he was shattered when she died and never recovered.

That said - I am not hating on M1 for getting her part of the Purple Rain $$ as she announced in her reality show. It is again saying alot without using words. I am just stating her timing, what she has chosen to highlight to entice readers and blaming Larry Graham, M2 and other things besides herself as why she did not make it with Prince is disappointing. Why throw others under the bus? Why insinuate Prince had the defective gene that effected the baby? Why insinuate he burned the baby's ashes . . . That is not hating on M1. It is stating why I feel as I do about the book.

To M1 and those championing her at this time no hard feelings and not hating. Just how I feel about it. No Big Deal.

Your posts are always thoughtful Vashtix! hug As I've shared, I lost my BFF in 2012. I watched and held her hand as she slipped away into eternity. She was like a sister to me so I can relate with you & TOB and his discussions as well. It's easier to relate with people when you have a shared experience. All of us have lost someone we've cared about at some point. None of us are immune. The conversations with TOB evolved into discussions about Denise's past with Prince. If thanking and being appreciative of his insightful posts and sharing are considered as ass kissing to get information, so be it. At least I have manners and respect. biggrin

My first issue with Mayte and her book was that she was originally going to do it in 2015 and Prince was said to have stopped it. He didn't stop Sheila when she wrote her book and went on her "I was engaged to Prince tour" a few years back. falloff

Denise also wrote a book "Blame it On Vanity" in which she talked about Prince to a degree and her spiritual journey. From what I understand, she took responsibility for her life and her actions. She wasn't blaming Prince for her crashing fall. Nothing juicy or salacious was spilled about their relationship nor did she throw Prince under bus with insinuations and suggestions. If anyone had anything on him that could've hurt his career, I imagine it was her. She wasn't stopped.

I was one to say that I would NOT be purchasing Mayte's book. However, someone sent me a copy of the transcript in early March and I decided to read it.

It was not the romantic, fairytale "love story" I thought she was going to promote with this book. It took me a few nights to read it, because I have a life and family to care for. Thinking back, it was good that way as I could "sleep on it" and ponder a bit more what she was saying. The parts of her growing up, as I've said before, seemed benign to me. Nothing outrageous. When she started delving into meeting Prince and her parent's insistance that she send him a tape, I started feeling uncomfortable at their pursuing of him. Sorry, I know some don't like that, but it's the truth. I found nothing romantic about the proposal and it left me wondering why Prince didn't put all the stops out for her. She was in Spain and why couldn't have flown to her and done it right? Over the phone while he was "sick" or depressed is how he proposed? He had the means to go grand for this woman he loved, but he didn't. It was meh.. and I didn't get the warm fuzzy feelings you get when you hear of a marriage proposal. Then, I started having WTF type reactions when she began with her insinuations of missing pills and Prince acting "loopy and sick". She walked it back a little by saying that she never saw anything. Well, if that's the case, then why did she bring it up? Same thing with the missing baby ashes. I especially didn't like that she shared his reaction and upset at the baby's birth. I just thought it was distasteful to share Prince's intimate moment like that painting it in a bad light.

If this was really a love story how did sharing those events add or enhance it? The answer is they didn't and they weren't meant to. Any person thinking objectively can see it. By the time I finished reading it, I was actually feeling mad. All I could think, coming from her to him... "I'm angry, you hurt me, now you're gone, I can blow all this sh*t out of the water but veil it as a love story". It sounds vengeful, attention-seeking, she gains $$$ in the process. That's where I am.

Though I could care less about her, I don't hate her. Perhaps in the future she will write another book taking us through the lessons learned, moving on, and chronicling her journey to healing. That would be worth a read and she'd gain respect from me.

Did we even read the same book?

LOL!!

The things that are getting pushback are facts; M1 and her family tried with others. Prince was the only one to take the bait.

Prince was the superstar way before M1 appeared. His work that too him to international stardom about the Greatest Romance Ever Sold was Purple Rain. He had LRC and iconic 1999. EVeryone all over the world was trying to be Prince way before Mayte.

M1's time with Prince not many were sniffing for Prince and the 2 of them did not win over the masses. Her work was fine but she cannot even come close to his influence in the 80s . I know he would also refer to the 80s as the best decade and for him it was. The 90s did not compare.

I did not want him to park in the 80s and I love all his decades I am stating the masses and his success. Some of my fav work of his was in the 2000s.

In the 80s and late 70s he had people around him that cared and knew the man. After that well , you see what he had people searching him out for their own shine.

You can try but as I keep saying - the man tried to kill himself while married to her and expecting a baby. He was not a happy man in love. Just saying.

I had initially decided that I was not going to respond to any additional posts but after seeing the bolded comment.....well, here I am. Frankly, this comment is repulsive. To put it mildly. For the life of me, I could not understand where all the false claims, venomous attacks and downright nastiness was coming from. I realized that there are a small faction of Vanity fans that in their, misguided imo, attempts to raise her to a level in Prince's life that she never achieved, they have to disparage those that had a definitive impact on his life. Obviously, vashtix, I vehemently disagree with your opinion. Prince was very much in love with Mayte. They developed a meaningful friendship that then turned into a deep love. He chose her to be his first wife. He chose her to be the Mother to his children. Please take a minute to read the articles in the following link: content://com.sec.android...2943.mhtml A quote from Prince in one of the articles: Like a man in love, he adds: "She really makes my soul feel complete. I feel powerful with her around. And she makes it easier to talk to God." In her book, she shares some letters he wrote to her that are very telling of the tremendous love he had for her. It is what it is. There is simply no point in scrutinizing the parent's decision to let Mayte spend time with Prince in his hotel room discussing their career aspirations. It is a mute point as this happened 30 years ago and resulted in nothing more than planting the seed of a friendship. Aamof, Mayte was less safe in her own home with a trusted family friend. Should the parents be condemned for letting that disgusting man into their home? Please, let it go! There was NEVER an annulment. There is no valid reason to question Mayte's own statements regarding that. In the GENLUX article from Summer 2013, she emphatically denies the annulment story: http://www.genlux.com/mayte-garcia/ The book details events surrounding that entire scenario and after reading it, you understand why it transpired. (In response to bibrose reply #131) It is common knowledge that Prince was a serial dater. If he chose to date three women at the same time after they split up, I guess that was his business. If he dated Desray, Ananda and Mani after they split, who cares? Again, his business. So what if Mayte identified "The Greatest Romance....." (not "song" as you wrote it) video as "down and dirty"? You stated it was "beautiful". You get an opinion but she doesn't? Smdh. YOU don't get to decide how the editing of Mayte's book is handled. Furthermore, Mani WAS one of two principal factor's that contributed to the demise of Prince and Mayte's marriage. Someone opined that Mayte was a footnote in Prince's life. No. She was incredibly relevant. He wrote some of his most lauded work during his time with Mayte. She inspired him tremendously. The footnotes are the women who held his attention for a minute before he got distracted by the music or another woman. Vanity, Carmen, Nona, Robin, Apollonia...... Oh, and TOB.....tsk. I can only smh.

I don't know where you all get these things. lol

The real Mayte is the person who was with Tommy Lee? Prince was with 100's of women....

From reading her book. She writes she is told to lie about her age from the age of 3, and again until she is 16, so she can dance in clubs. She writes about her parents cheating, and their on/off relationship as some kind of "love story". She writes that she earned $100K but within a few months of getting to PP and WHILE ON HIS PAYROLL, she writes she is broke - she never accounts for where her money went. She writes her father came to speak to P about her "being taken advantage of because he was writing songs about her" (meaning he was making money) and then writes she didn't get "a raise". Later on she claims P had no idea how much she was making ($300 a week, wages from the Revolution days) and that she got herself a raise. She writes she was docked pay because a hairdresser was eating whipped cream and cookies (like a hairdresser's looks are important behind the scenes!) and claims the accountant told her this was the first time something like this happened in his 20 years knowing full well that others from as far back as the Revolution had their pay docked for various reasons. She writes: I want to be clear. In all the years we were together, I never actually saw Prince doing drugs. He didn’t want me to see it…" which, in essence says, I believe he was hiding it from me. She writes that he "bullied" her into signing something that indicated they were annulling their marriage but claims she didn't read it nor gives the details as to whom it was written for. She claims now to have "lost track" of the urn but she could keep track of china, his clothing and a pair of hand-cuffs across continents for 20 years. She writes that P prevented her from having a D&C when there was no fetus only the placenta, instead of getting the procedure done right away as any Doctor would have done since she was bleeding because they are bound by the Hippocratic Oath to do so, she goes to visit her mother for a while. I could go on and on about the FACTS she misrepresents or manipulates to put P in a bad light but it would take a 400 page book to point them all out.

Misslink88 -- you are awesome! You have discussed a lot of the issues I had problems with. Most of the people stanning for Mayte are not very analytical so they don't notice the glaring lies, misstatements and misrepresentations that cannot get past any analytical or intelligent person.

Mayte's Real Age: Remember that Prince asked her if she was really 16 when he first met her. He was aware that it was a showbiz industry practice for a few years to be shaved off the age of child stars. Both MJ and Prince had a couple of years shaved off their age when they were younger. Also, it is not unusual for army brats to follow behind a year or two as their families moved around army bases. Recently her current age was announced as 47, so if she turned 47 in November 2016, then birth year cannot be 1973. A member of LSA did a great write up on Mayte's age using her stated age when she appeared on "That's Incredible" where she was described as the youngest belly dancer. The video has since been taken down from Youtube. Here is what she shared: "Originally Posted by xxxxxxxxxx I am a year younger than Mayte claims to be. I turned 18 in late 1992. Which made her 19, the age she's said in several interviews to Daily Mail interviews she was when she moved to MN. But here's some proof. In a promo interview for Hollywood Exes, Mayte said her most treasured memory was being on That's Incredible when she was 8. On the May 12, 1980 episode that she appeared on, they introduced her as "8-year old PrincessMayte". There's a clip of this video on the 3 Chains O' Gold film at 8:40. If Mayte's birthday is in November and in May 1980 she was 8, her accurate birth year is 1971, not 1973. Which means if she met him in 1990, she was 19 not 16. And when they became intimate in 1993, she was 21 going on 22, not 19 going on 20. No matter how many times you Google her name."

$100,000 Earned before Joining Prince: In one instance she claims her Father did not properly manage her money. Then she claims she had $100,000 in savings before she met Prince. That is a bit of a stretch for someone who was performing in Middle Eastern and Turkish restaurants in Weisbaden. I have lived in Germany before. There was not such a large population of people of Middle Eastern descent back in the day for her to earn enough just from dancing, and also save that much while as she claims her Father was not properly managing her money. It seems that within short order of joining Prince, she had run down her savings and had to pilfer food from the service carts in hotel corridors to feed herself. Some of the stories just do not make any sense at all!

Second Pregnancy: The second pregnancy was an undeveloped fertilized egg and a placenta. How is that a child? How was it determined to be a girl? Which medical facility or lab would test an undeveloped fertilized egg to determine its sex? Very strange! D&C is a standard procedure undertaken to remove tissue following a miscarriage to prevent infection. Was it even necessary to share such details, and the detailed description of the first child, with the entire world? Does Prince not deserve some modicum of respect and privacy regarding such details of his private life?

It is just very sad when one considers that it is not only people on Prince.org and the USA who are reading this book. The book is being discussed in newspapers and will be read worldwide -- India, China, South America, UK, Australia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Asia etc. This is gratutious sharing of information that we really do not need to know.

Ok, so she wasn't a minor when they met. Great, so no need to worry about her virtue.

I have no access to her bank account and don't care how much money she did or didn't have.

I never saw her say the 2nd pregnancy was a girl.

Her 1st child description made me wince a bit...but...it was her child...she shared details about her child. P's no longer able to voice an objection.

The thing is...those who don't like the book are telling folks who read the book not to read it and folks who like it not to like it.

That's not your call.

It's a free country for you not to read it or like it.

It's also a free country for folks to read it and like it.

Frankly, all the arguing merely brings more attention and free publicity to it. And with my personality, telling me not to read or like it will cause me to spitefully do it anyway and recruit others to do it too just cuz I can and it'll piss off those who don't want that to happen.

And there are many just like me.

Just a thought.

I am also bewildered by the comparisons of princes talents and maytes. Mayte is a really good dancer, prince has had many really good dancers preforming with him over the years. If mayte was not his wife, she would be a foot note, another good back up dancer in princes band. Does anyone even know the names of other rock stars back up dancers? We know her because he married her, not because of her own career success

I know the name of Cat Glover and of Musty Copeland and Robia LaMorte (diamond and pearl fame) because she has a Christian minister and Carmen Electra . None of them are cashing in. Carmen is spectacular and the dancer most people know. However she does not use Prince for her brand.
Mani is not doing a media blitz nor any of the other significant women. If they are they were respectful of at least waiting til after the first anniversary of his death.
I look forward to the other books at this time.

Well we did learn from Mani how Prince burned items they had together, and things of that nature to be done with a relationship. Or not giving certain things back etc..

The annullment document that Mayte signed i felt could have done with more clarification, since Prince put the annullment in the public domain. He drew up a document statig that they were annulling their vows and obviously she protested it, but signed it. What she doesnt explain is who the document was for or why it was necessary. I dont recall Prince making this document public, so what was the purpose of having it in the first place. It seems like a futile exercise on Princes part if they officially divorced. She never explains much about this document.

The footnotes are the women who held his attention for a minute before he got distracted by the music or another woman. Vanity, Carmen, Nona, Robin, Apollonia...... Oh, and TOB.....tsk. I can only smh.

NotACleverName -- who has appointed you the "Grand Poo-Bah" on what people can comment on a book that is in the public domain. Anybody with a modicum of elementary education knows that when a book is published that book will be read and reviewed by the public. You have your opinions and others have their opinions too. Some people are going to like the book and others are not going to like the book. The obvious and glaring omissions, misstatements, misrepresentations in the book and shortcomings of the book will be discussed by people because the book is about a public figure who, though very private while alive, has a wealth of information about him in the public domain. It is extremely naive for you, the author, and her associates and supporters to think that people will not oppose the book or be critical of it. Once the author decided to release the book in the month of Prince's first anniversary at a time that the majority of his fans are still mourning his loss, she should have expected that there would be pushback and a very critical review of the book. You cannot shut people up. This is the USA and one of the fundamental rights that the citizens of this country have is the right of free speech. The author has a right to write her book, and critics have a right to critically review the book, disagree with her, question her motives, and present facts to refute her assertions. If she was not prepared for a critical review of her book, then she should not have written it. She has chosen to write and release a book that is causing the reputation of a beloved public figure to be dragged through the mud. We will critic it! There is nothing that you, the author, her family, associate and friends, can do to shut us up. Perhaps you need to review Literature 101 before you post another condescending response in a blatant effort to shut people up. Thank you!

Bribose,

Your post has brought tears to my eyes. I think that M1 was shortsighted releasing the book now. What did Prince do to her that caused her to want to snatch the wound off for people like me still mourning the loss of Prince of the anniversary of his death ? He did not just belong to her. He allowed himself to belong to us all. His music touched people, touched me.

Prince was there when still a child with my parents, he was there when my friends and I were cocky, teens, he was there for the first love, the first kiss, the first sensuality. Prince was there and seemed to know he WAS, his music, his lyrics, his life . . .it paralleled.

SO to the people out there who so casually, carelessly, and flippantly, decided to hijack this 1st anniversary of his transition for their personal celebrity and monetary gain . . . bad timing and it says much with saying nothing. It is the ultimate middle finger being given to me with a smile.

M1 has to know the book would be discussed, the good and the bad , especially the stuff about the baby, and all the times he was sick or loopy, and the burning of the ashes. OH!! Prince was the father, there is no respect no empathy for Prince or the baby. IDK it just squeezes my heart. Prince held from the public that information. Yes, he belonged to us but he did not need to have us in on every intimate detail of his world. He deserved to keep somethings private and his own. He protected his son and the memory all these years... all these years.

Prince was a man, human, flawed and ugly like the rest of us but unlike us he had a gift he shared with us all ; he was not immortal and in death he deserved to be respected and if not him at least the baby, at least that. In the age of Keeping up with the Kardashians I know it is the norm to put it all out there but it shows no class and no care. In this case due timing and approved excerpts in the magazines . . . it is not loving, it is calculated and THAT is mean.

Just because you have the right does not make it right,

Gotcha.

I just have 2 questions: Why not give Mayte your opinion of the book since she wrote it, and not torture everyone else? Also, When will it be enough?

Maybe shut the whole org down? No? Just allow those that support the book to voice their opinion? Oppress those that oppose? Shut em down now! lol neutral

Erm.

I never said anything about oppressing anyone.

What I'm asking is..Ok, you oppose. Now what? You oppose some more. Ok...and you oppose again. Ok. We heard your opposal loud and clear. But we can't do anything about your opposal so now it's simply you opposing, but to what end?

What's your end game?

When will you feel you've opposed enough?

Because you must realize there eventually must come an end. I'm simply enquiring when that will be.

She never explains much about this document. . [Edited 4/8/17 4:41am]

Actually, she does explain it.

It's explained pretty well.

Youre saying opposition is pointless and want to know when it will end?
Sometimes people do things not because they have anything to gain but because it's a matter of principle. They do it because they see a wrong and want to correct it. This is NOT about me, or us, its about Prince. Our motives are not selfish, why dont you question the motives of those supporting?

Of course people opposing are constantly having to justify themselves. Ill give some justification, PRINCE.

Thats it.

Great! Can we have your crib notes on it 'cause my take away from that whole thing was there was no explanation. She wrote she didn't read something and that she signed something. That was all the explanation she provided in the book. Then she writes she wrote him a letter saying she knew he didn't love her any more and, less than 60 days later (fastest divorce on record it seems), she got an envelope handed to her from her lawyer.

God is my Sugar Daddy.

So, what I'm hearing you say is that you will continue to torment the folks who didn't write the book in the hopes that it will make the book, what?...vanish?...be pulled off the market?

Because no amount of opposing to those who didn't write it and have no control over it will do that.

S'ok. Eventually, you'll either see that...or tire and take a nap.

Anyway, good luck with all of that.

See? You got it. There ya go.

And it was all right in the book.

BTW, since her lawyer was in NJ, maybe the divorce papers are filed there or in NYsince folks said they couldn't find a record of it in Minnesota.

I think she knows when she was born. Sheesh. Nit pic, nit pic.
