I’ve said this on another thread…the tabloids say something bad about P and of course they are evil and are lying, the tabloids print something about Mayte's book and some of you say of course she planted it and she is evil. Which is it? When you agree with the media or tabloids they are correct, when you disagree they are making stories up. This is a no win situation. . I read the book and believe me she does nothing but paint him in the best possible light!! . BillieBalloon, there is no mud. Laura, she exposes nothing bad! She only speaks of her life as it relates to prince, it’s her journey. And just because you 'think' something does not make it a fact; it’s just you spreading false rumors. . There were a few times where she could really have zinged him, but didn’t take the bait and do so. If anything, there are a few places where I thought she was too kind. . Context, context, context!!!! If you’re going to take tabloid quotes and base opinions on them you’re doing yourself a disservice. If you don’t want to buy the book go to your local library. But it’s unfair to make a judgement on a complete piece of work when you’ve only seen a sentence taken here or there and out of context at that. . Sheesh, you’all better get a big bottle of xanax or a case of wine (don’t take them together!) for when Mani, Kirk, and others come out with their books (come on, you know they will). As for the 10 pages Shelia wrote about him which was ‘classy’, this is a lady who tried to sell a song about them a week after his death… I bet she is writing the second edition to her book as we speak. . What are you talking about. This is what I typed. " I also think he burned her stuff because she had an affair but I do not think there is anything wrong with it since he was running around however, womanizers do not see it that way."
I never said she burned her own stuff. I would think you would ask for the urn in the divorce and not the china.

I have nothing to say to someone who cannot take the time to look up the contradictions in what she is saying in the book compared to stuff she said before in print.
I think Prince comes off bad and she tells littlel about her imperfections. If you believe she is perfect that is your right to do so. I do not think she is telling the whole story or she cannot remember what version she wants to tell. I also would love to know were the 100,000.00 went to

I never said she burned her own stuff. I would think you would ask for the urn in the divorce and not the china. My apologies, Laura - I read your quote wrong! As for the China, my thoughts are that when he moved Mayte to Spain, everything was set up to "play house" again, when he knew damn well he wasn't following her to Spain. Why she didn't bring the urn herself, I have no clue. Like I said, maybe P kept it "safe" like M2's immigration papers, knowing he wanted to get rid of the memories. It sounds harsh, but we all know P obliterated things because of grief-it's how he dealt with it I gues

Why do you think P used the pic of him & apples for "this could be us"? And then made a fuss for her at paisley?

Quit being ignorant. It's pointless and juvenile to come here stating "I won't read the book"...but yet the ones (not you)who haven't read the book want to ask 10 million questions in regards to the book. No one is trying to get anyone to buy the book- but if you're that damn curious as to what's in it, then read the book, already. You've already stated you've got the bootleg, so do your sidekick Billie a favor and send it to her. DAMN! Laura doesn't need to send my anything. Ive read the book. Do you think I would be so stupid as to discuss a book i havent read? Now what you think of the fact that ive read the book? I couldnt care less so give your litte fingers a rest and dont bother. Same reason that P took M1 on a Hawaiian honeymoon, then years later took M2 to Hawaii to get married...men can be sorta dense and thoughtless sometimes.

As for the release of the book on the anniversary of Prince's passing, this was her choice as for the following reliable article. "I thought it would be perfect for it to come out on his anniversary. "

But men can be dense sometimes and not really mean to hurt someone's feelings deliberately, but... ---The dense part about women's feelings is true. Just like I firmly belive Prince got distant and cold toward Mayte for reasons we may never know and she may only know some because he might have felt like "hey you need to gage my moods and figure things out" he did not need to communicate everything to her since he felt they were soul mates. He was a pimp that is for sure.

But men can be dense sometimes and not really mean to hurt someone's feelings deliberately, but... I gotcha. Maybe they were the "iconic" couple of his career (to the public) (not to mention Kanye - "like prince was on apollonia) that it was a convenient meme / throwback. Additionally, since they never had a romantic relationship, there were no hurt feelings to navigate.

Regardless of what people think about maytes book and love story with prince, that fact is she was not the love of his life, nor was she his widow, as he had decades to reconnect with her and did not. She herself said she saw him out one time and he looked at her like she was a monster. How could this relationship be "the most beautiful" when it was super hard core over for 2 decades ago. So at the very best it was a beautiful love story that ended a very very long time ago, not really a love of your life type ending. It is presumptuous for her to state he never got over the heartbreak they shared,as she was totally out of his life... [Edited 4/7/17 15:45pm]

I'm not pointing at any specific orger but sometimes I wonder if the hatred towards Prince's former "women" for lack of a better term, is fueled by current or past associates or staff members who really had a bad personal experience with any of them. If not, how can we possibly hate that much without being involved and getting to know them personally. Is it like watching a soap opera and deciding which characters are the good and the bad ones. I have been guilty of following certain trends myself. Yet, today, I must admit I feel I have judged too quickly without funded reasons but only perspectives and interpretations of people and events. Viewing Mayte on recent interviews and sharing personal information with the world without disrespecting Prince or any others at least by name leads to a certain change of hearts. She comes across as genuine, respectful, and still vulnerable It is time at least on my end to bury my hatchet and giving this woman some type of break. She has suffered enough and seems to still be suffering. If she were to read posts in here, I would publicly apologize for participating in heated conversations against her.
