If Terence Trent D'arby and Lenny Kravitz are considered Prince-related then I saw them live too--only one headlining show each though.
Nikka Costa would be someone else who falls in that category. I've seen her many times.
They worked with him/shared the stage with him, so if James Brown is considered Prince-related they are too .
If I had seen Nikka Costa I sure would have put her on my list
If that's the case, add Lenny to my list...I've seen him 5 or 6 times (twice he opened for Aerosmith, once the Black Crowes opened for Lenny, once Smashmouth opened...I forget the rest), and I saw Nikka Costa play with Prince at the Aladdin in Vegas, 2002 I think... Make it so, Number One... |

Since we are expanding the Prince circle, I forgot about Amy Winehouse. I saw her live twice.
I've seen Alicia Keys live a few times.
I saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings once live too.
To consider every artist with whom Prince has shared a stage enlarges the potential list considerably. Like all those guys who played with him on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. I never before would have thought Tom Petty and Steve Winwood were Prince-related artists.
Okay I would not consider Tom Petty and Steve Winwood Prince-related artists - but soembody like Lenny Kravitz who performed with Prince several times because Prince chose him to do so is Prince-related IMO . Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings all are artists who also were chosen by Prince to perform with/for him - so I would have added them to my list too. And I am still pissed I chose not to see Amy live when my ex wanted to go and see her with me . With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A.... |

I see the distinction now between Prince-related artists and "Prince-related" artists.
The first time I saw Amy Winehouse was her first ever U.S. show I believe so she was still humble and eager to please the audience. The funny thing about that gig was I went because The Pipettes were the opening act whom I loved at the time. I may not have even known who Amy Winehouse was when the show was announced.
The second time I saw her was a few months later, but by then she had already settled into the some of the bad stage behavior which eventually tarnished her reputation as a live act. It was still a good show though.

Because of that reputation you mention I didn't want to see her . Now I regret it.
