Well, Susan Rogers considered 'Adonis & Bathsheba' sub-standard, so I wouldn't particularly rate her judgements either. There is no evidence that Susan is 'objective' either. Who is? What we can ascertain, in this respect though, is that Susan Rogers would not have been in accord with Prince's wishes about who should handle HIS music. I happen to think that's important.

My thoughts also. Prince made his feelings about Susan Rogers very clear - more than once (also see the Mojo interview in I think '99). He even stated that Susan Rogers knew nothing about his music. Clearly, Rogers wouldn't be Prince's choice. He's never been as negative about any other engineer.

I wonder if that's because she challenged him on occasions?

I don't think P appreciated being challenged too much...

Also, she never actually said that if you bother to go listen to the original interview (BBC documentary about the vault )

Oh please, at best this is a massive stretch... unless the interviewer comes out and says Prince told him to print the full transcript in the first place, which he didnt.

Susan Rogers said what she said in a written interview sometime around the PR 30 anniversary.

I'll go as far as saying no she definitely did not.


Out of interest, who would people want involved in a new greatest hits/archival release? If we followed Prince's method we'd probably just hire some leggy 20 year old we found on twitter who just about knows the greatest hits to curate the vault.

I like that I am glad she is with them...she knows that catalogue because she put it together for prince..
