She cliams to have "divorced" herself from the name "Vanity" but was still going around selling "Vanity" compact mirros and "autographed" photos of Prince and herself. I mean if claim to be a "Woman of Worth" why would you still want to make $$$ off a name you claim was "evil"??? That is disturbing and sending mixed signals. Still trying to figure her out

I agree with you endiadj completely. When I saw that I immediately took that to mean she wanted to leave one lasting message that Prince would hopefully see. I remember some accounts indicating Prince probably had a medical emergency as early as 2014 and it was kept quiet. She knew Prince was on Instagram and would see that. I love myself some Prince and I remember her saying all those years ago he wasn't as forgiving and was very controlling if yu didn't do what he wanted. If there had been an emergency - health, addiction, who knows - maybe she was trying to get him to go back to that song and remember the words. I heard one of ministry messages and she said at that time she was a prisoner to that life and she let people including our dear Prince tell her what she should do, wear, how to sing, how to dance - and she succumbed to thos ways. She changed her life before it was too late because living dangerously almost took her out. Maybe that's what she was telling him. I pray for his spirit and soul. RIP Prince

I must say I totally agree with you about getting in bed with Warner's again and the toxic people around him. It's so hard to phanthom how hard he fought to get his masters back that he would trust them again. I believe her Instagram post was about the time Phaedra Lambkin Ellis helped him get his masters back, Then if there was a medical emergency in 2014 which many people think Kirk Johnson was aware of since Prince went to Kirk's doctor. Kirk continued to be mainstay with him at all times. Wasn't Kirk on the plane with Prince and Judith Hill when he had the alleged overdose problem? So maybe put the warning out there for those reasons. And of course we can speculate but there are so many things we can't figure out or don't make sense. They are both in a better place I pray.

I do believe Mayte was the soulmate and I do believe he loved her enough to start a family and try more than once. I aso think he loved Denise at one time but it was a different kind of love. As for the song Revelation I thought it was about Mayte and Ahmir Gregory. Such a beautiful song but such a hauntiness and painful sound to it too. But maybe that's my wishful thinking. May they both rest in peace

I even think his revised version of This Could Be Us was about what he lost with Mayte. Ahhh what do I know right?

I don't think too much should be read into it being the "last image she posted". It was posted in August 2014 - along with 5 other images. Also if you read the captions on all the images it seems like she just set up the Instagram to sell her belongings to finance republishing her book. If you read the caption on the Prince image she was trying to sell it. I think that kind of evaporates any romantic notions that there was some deep/hidden significance to her posting it

I see and you may very well be on to something. I had not thought about that. MMMMMM I guess I need to look at it another way.

I do not think Mayte was his soul mate

I think that whole thing was alot of fantasy and ego and when the dust cleared and he came to himself he sent her away. He never looked back.

Although, do we even know what relationship they really had? There's so many bizarre things like Vanity wearing a wedding band in the early 80's while she's in V6 on TV. It just raises questions of whether they were more serious than publicly acknowledged. The more you look at their behaviour, the more obvious it is that there seems to be a backstory that hasn't been made public. And of course, there's nothing wrong with that, just because you're famous doesn't mean you can't have a private life. But you're right, it's a shame they didn't have easy path.
