I too watched Hollywood Exes for Mayte and Nicole Murphy. She is one of my fav proteges alongside Vanity 6, Jill Jones and Sheila E and The Time. Bless her

I love Mayte. She seems like such a sweetheart and I only watched Hollywood Exes for her and Nicole. You can tell that she still loved him

Hollywood Exes is hilarious. One of the better reality shows there were. It got cancelled in my opinion because it wasn't negative and ratchet like Housewives or Hip Hop whatever. The women (most of them) were truly friends. They supported each other and felt a kinship having been married to high profile men.

There's so many funny moments I remember just off the top of my head and I haven't seen it since it aired. Mayte, Sheree and the couple of others were having a private tattoo party. They were drinking and Sheree took some sort of drug that Travis Barker's ex gave her. She starts mouthing off about how Will Smith was good in bed and that Martin Lawrence was ugly (his ex was there) Then she tells Mayte that Prince was "pretty" and that she'd give him some right then and there. She kept saying, "Taye, i love you I'm giving him some." Mayte just laughed. I think that was from season 3.

You just just see that the laugs and hard times were genuine. Drea and Mayte really seemed to bond. I felt like you got to know Mayte. The type of person she is. She seemed sweet and geniune to me. But also has that - don't mess with me thing going on. Like she's vulnerable but can hold her own. I thought she was highly affable. I could see what Prince saw in her. I was happy too when little Gia unexpectly entered her life. She seems like a great mom and Gia always looks so happy on Mayte's IG posts. Years ago I used to work with foster kids so I was really happy that she chose to adopt. So many kids out here need love that creating babies in a lab just feels wrong to me.

You can still see the show on VH1.com I believe. And I noticed on FB that VH1 has been promoting clips of the show since Prince died.

Oh and here's a longer clip of Mayte's speech. It's 4 minutes vs. the 2+ mintues. The media really cut the prince to just the parts where she mentioned Prince.

Thank you! Totally agree. I think it is tragic. Do you think it haunted him? Or drove him further into his religious guilt that he seemed to have in the later years?

I have to agree too! She is so fine, looking like her Mom as she ages! I watched the Hollywood Exes for Mayte and to see and hear from The R. Kelly ex. She went thru it with the tape and his mess!! But my heart almost broke when I saw the Twinz and then they had Mayte get props in between them on the BET tribute. Sheila's was the most earnest tribute as a, she was there and knew how they used to do those songs, and B, she did the Prince moves down to the hand jicve with Jerome, sliding across the floor at 58 that ain't easy and with no socks on!!. i keep rewinding it and watching Sheila's tribute because unless it is taped( Prince) we wont get close to seeing all that variety, movement, from one single performer again. Sheila really captured his essence which we all know was his music and the performing of it.

And Mayte,coming back to be part of it, God bless her ,really!

I absolutely love Mayte and it is so sad how their story ended, but in the end, she now has Gia. And I also watched Hollywood Exes to see Mayte and Drea. I am still mad that it got cancelled, but eventually, I will get it on DVD.

I liked thw shoe becasue there wasn't a lot of ex husband bashing, in fact there was very little talk of the ex-husbands. It really dealt with the ex wives and them moving on with their lives.

I agree. I loved the show and am sad it got canceled. I have to say ever since Mayte's divorce and has gotten older she has really come into herself and I like her personality a lot.
