Whoa! eek Steep prices; she must really need money. If you can afford to pay that for a cassette tape, go for it! Does anyone still own a cassette player anymore? lol

How do you know that Mayte is auctioning off these items?

If Mayte is selling these then that makes me feel sad. I think i'd be putting them in a box and giving them to my ex partner.. the early guitar.. there's a pic of him holding it at little more than a teen. Wouldn't you kust say 'if you want them, here are your items'.

The Side B, containing Prince's songs, opens with an early, acoustic version of "So Blue", followed by two unreleased love songs with bouncy, upbeat choruses and risque lyrics. Next is an early version of "Gotta Broken Heart Again", which later appeared on Prince's seminal "Dirty Mind" album. The fourth track features heavy guitar distortion and a chorus that include very candid sexual pleas from Prince. The tape ends with a very early, virtually unrecognizable version of "Sometimes it Snows in April", with only a couple of lines from the chorus making the final cut onto the later version of the song that's featured on the "Parade" album, released some eight years after this tape was created.

wow! eek

That tape came from Dez not Mayte.

But obviously the engagement ring and marriage proposal letter is from Mayte, and I believe some of the clothing too.

I have three functional cassette decks at home and an old working Walkman in my drawer at work.

Cassettes are making a mini comeback: http://metro.co.uk/2016/0...k-5710233/

I had a Sony Sports Walkman from the 90s in perfect shape until I moved two years ago... I should've kept it. It was water-proof and had Dolby sound... lol

No bids yet--wanna all put a few bucks in? 20000 minimum. How many of us are here? I've got a cassette player, so I'll just hold on to the tape for everyone, okay?

Sad to see that she's selling all of that stuff, especially the engagement ring.

The music stuff should really go back to Prince. I doubt he's missing the clothes though.

Mayte does an animal rescue i have talked to her a few times....very breifly...maybe it is for that... and if not and if she has all that stuff (there is a lot of stuff) good for her....but I think DEZ had the tape... but anyway...why shouldn't they be able to cash in on that stuff. If P wants it he can cough up the money.

They've got them at Best Buy.... Thanks, Guardians Of The Galaxy! razz

Really though, vinyl makes sense, it sounds so good. Cassettes... don't.

Plus, they don't last as long as vinyl or CDs. I've been transfering a bunch of my tapes to digital and have found that 1 out of every 5 or 6 has playback problems, even though they've been stored properly. confused

That said, they're the best way to make a mix. Mixtapes > Mix CDs > Playlist!!!

Just sayin'... cool

This sale leaves a bad taste with me. These items should be packed up & sent to Paisley Park. These items are all very personal. Prince could have his wardrobe department alter them or he could donate them to charity. I hope they don't sell.

If they were gifts given to the person auctioning the property, that person has every right to sell them, whether some think it is in poor taste or not.

From a female perspective this make me feel very sad looking through all this it's like picking over the bones of a broken marriage. I think Princes personal things should be sent back to him & what she does with her things (the dress, crockery, ring etc) is her business as they are hers. When my marriage broke up I made sure he took everything that was his and belonged to his parents etc, because they are his history not mine. But everyone sees things differently.

I guess possibly she even offered to them to him but he said "no thanks", he may well be "over it" but I thought he may have liked that old guitar back.

I have some footage somewhere where she was interviewed and said she had some of this clothes and showed them ........so I belive this collection is from her.

in the description of the items, at the end, it says who is selling the particular items.

there are items being sold by Owen Husney, Dez Dickerson and Mayte.

Mayte is NOT selling his guitar, demo recordings or tapes.
