What a let down, another singer that only prince, and only prince, cares about. All this be positive crap, posted by Hannah and such is really starting to be very annoying. They all seem to be living in a bubble.

Doors opened around 10, few enough people that most parked in the lot.

No cover, DJ spun in the small NPGMC room as "Oz the Great and Powerful" looped in a reel on the screens (hey, at least it wasn't "Finding Nemo").

Around midnight, Jon Bream (Star Tribune), the staff of The Current 89.3FM, and other press people were led into the studio to hear parts of new music from Judith Hill, produced by Prince, that was being worked on.

Prince popped into the NPGMC room to check out the scene, wearing an AOA shirt and pants and shoes that lit up in the heel.

1am- Judith Hill and band played about a half hour by candlelight with 3rd Eye Girl watching at the back steps with Prince, then Prince clapped along and briefly watched in the crowd, before moving over to the side of the stage.

DJ continued spinning as a small random group were let in the studio to hear the new music. Soon after, everyone else left out in the lobby was forced to leave around 2:15am.

No Prince performance, though he did seem in a good mood.

Jon Bream's account here:

Truth! And they don't learn from their deceiving mistakes, ask the fans in Toronto how they feel about Hannah tweeting "OTNOROT CALLING" last year: http://www.jambands.com/n...r-happened

I bet near NOBODY was at Paisley Park last night to see a Judith Hill performance, the people who went were there because of false high hopes (created by 3EG!) of a Prince concert. Fine if P and the girls invite close friends for a private closed door event. But do NOT hype the thing as "something amazing is about to happen". Thank you!

Jon Bream, Prince's newfound love, reports on last night:

Sorry , just read the jon bream report, so no music played by prince at all. Maybe some new songs that prince has written for the singer. At least we might get the songs eventually with princes vocals on it in bootleg form!! wink

I saw her on "The Voice". She lost but I had her picked to win. She is great!! Not surprised that Prince knows about her too. Plus she just happens to be young, hot, half black and half Japanese.

Oh dear. Hate to say this but, for me, the main thing that stuck out about her in 20 Feet from Stardom is that while she was a very worthy backing singer her songs were, well, lacking...

With the 2 tracks released earlier this month, I read this thread thinking perhaps a new album/s is ready for release. Obviously deep down I thought it unlikely, but you never know. Oh well, never mind...... Nothing to see here....... Move along........

So the band were asked to tweet about something going to happen to give the Illusion that Prince was actually going to do something worthwhile and help get people to Paisley.

Who is this big news to? lol

Another Artist that may be talented but will inevitably end up with a limited success under Prince.

I honestly don't think Prince in any way can further anyones career in this day in age. Production wise yeah its a good move to work with him and looks good on your CV so to speak, but why would you want to trust someone who has lost touch with the industry and doesnt know how to promote his own material, let alone anyone elses?

These Listening events show how far off he is from what they actually need. Invite a handful of Blog writers and some random people from Minneapolis to Paisley Park to listen to a few tracks and get them to write about it on Twitter and their sites.

Did he ever?

I mean not "by accident"?
I'm not taking into account CK's "I Feel For You" and Sinéad O'Connor.

It's more like : Do you want not to have a career? Get sponsored by P's.

Well, maybe Sheena Easton... But does she still pay the rent with her records?

You don't want to be negative, but you know you going to have to wait for this phase to be over till you get some proper prince news. What the hell has happened to the tour? Hit and finished?

Makes you wonder what he's promising these girls? (Apart from his Purple Sausage)

It seems Prince's main source of Promotion these days is Dr Funkenberry. lol

She's not under Prince, she under Sony. She's not relying on him for promotion. Not that Sony is any guarantee for success if you look at their roster, but being associated with Prince won't hurt anything.

Change it one more time..

I'm glad I stayed in bed on a cold and snowy Sunday night. I would have been pissed if I would have gotten ready and went to this. I guess it's a good thing they touted this as a private event, because no one else would have wanted to go.

Wait a minute...seriously?! She just did her album showcase party with a short Paisley Park concert and there were only Prince fans in the audience?!

And that's because the 3EG girls reached out to the Prince community that "something amazing was going to happen"?!

And you say she's NOT relying on Prince for promotion?! LOL Had this been advertised as a Judith Hill concert, with no 3EG/Prince hype involved...THAN your statement was true. But it was a false mysterious hyped up Paisley Park event...

I wonder what it's like for Judith Hill to be on a stage were the audience is only there to wait for Prince to show up!

That young man Jester atended it, and has posted about it on youtube. But as nice as he seems, its like trying to decipher two young school girls talking about One Direction. I had to switch it off half way through. But thanks for making the effort.

so P recorded her album in "two or three"weeks at PP.

looks like he's really putting effort into it.

those four Louisville shows were probably

covering the costs.or his new shoes.

maybe the future brings only hit and run shows when he needs

money.and the new Bria whatever.

I SO agree with you....

Whats so amazing about a medium talent chick who will probably never go farther than a few CD's bought ony cause Prince pushes them..

I had really hoped this was gonna be some COOL news.... Like a big world tour..

or even at least he cut his stupid Fro...

YAWN!!!!

I was totally hoping this "amazing" news was gonna really be something Amazing...

Such a let down..

Its really sad.. I use to get SO excited with ANYTHING to do with Prince. If he was on a talk show or award show I'd be so excited all day you'd think I was getting married or something...

but the last few years he just seems so blah.....

I know alot of you WON'T agree.. and will start throwing "bombs" at me..

but this is just MY opinion..
Not the world of Gospel..

BUT ~~ I REALLY REALLY wish he'd dump these semi talented Girls... cut his hair back to a "adult" sexy looking style (maybe like the 2004 look)

find himself a REAL band (or even a revamp of the NPG with the hornz and key boards etc)

and get back to making funky awesome music like he always has...

To me he is living in a pretend world...

The 70's hair cut, the 70's clothes.. the girls that dress like 70's hippies..

Sorry.. but I just can't "Dig it"

He has SOOO much talent and he is SOOO handsome and sexy....

but he really needs to look at what he has become..
its NOT a good look if you ask me..
