As I went through Alexander O'Neal's online music catalogue the other day I discovered the single HERE WE GO, released April 2014, which was unknown to me so far ... It's an okay song with a decent beat and rap. Actually, much better than I expected but when I saw all these Best Of, Best of Best of and other useless compilation albums, I thought: WHAT A SELL OUT! Cant he just go back to the studio, hook up with Jam & Lewis or another bunch of talented producers and record some brandnew Funk?!

I had to remember how much I adored his first albums, how much I loved to go to his concerts. He and Cherrelle, The Finest with the SOS Band! Oh WOW, his music used to be hotter than hot! However, now reading he's attending UK's Big Brother 2015 reality series, given a formal warning for his offensive language and so on ... It just makes me shake my head in disbelieve, finally burying my last expectations, hopes, whatever, in this once so promising Artist.

I hate to say it but I think his time has come and gone. My mom was a big fan of his back then and through her I heard his stuff. When I saw the "Unsung" on him it was kind of heartbreaking. Drugs and alcohol caught up with him and it looked like he was missing some teeth. Plus I don't think he really wants to do it anymore. It's sad because he was able break out of that "purple umbrella" association for a while. If he was marketed right he could have been the new Teddy Pendergrass of the late 80's. He was a cool singer with a lot of talent.

Yes, Alex's time has come and gone. He can't just hook up with Jam & Lewis and put out a new album. He needs a label and a distributor to get some half-way decent sales. No label is going to go out of their way to sign an old-school artist like O'Neal. And, with his history of personal problems, that would make it even more difficult to get a label to sign him. Maybe he ought to talk to whoever is managing Charlie Wilson. That kind of representation would be his only hope of getting back into the studio for a full length album that people are actually going to hear.

he still can sing, even with those missing teeth, haha ... Listen to HERE WE GO! Funky little track it is! But you are surely right, he's in need of somebody who takes some good, good care of him, a top management f.e.

Exactly! As you may know, Charlies new album incl. production input from Jam & Lewis! What they managed for him should work for Alex as well?!

Folks have to pay bills...Still ahve to live... Support donate, so they do not have to sell-out...

The youth are more likley to like that sound--becasue their parents have moved-on,a nd grown-out...and are more conservative with their $$$$ now...

Support, and promote his previous style.. Campaign for him...

Otherwise, he has to find a way to eat....right now..

Really, ask Jam & Lewis---why they don't just produce a record for him..or throw him a couple of left-over songs form that Minni-Sound Vault..Just to do it... For fun.

They are working with New Edition agian (supposedly).

B.B. King stays in that blues sound of his because--he wanted to keep it alive!
