From her site:
"Hi all. I'll be ministering in the Virgin Islands through May. I'll have new information for you soon."

Have you ever noticed that so many of these TBN evangelists are ministering in very tropical or tourist like places?

I mean come on!

What about the places that need it the most like your local hood?

Makes me second guess people's motives.

It's like:
"I think I'll ask my church to sponser a mission trip to Disney."

And that's the first time I've seen a photo gallery for a "minister".

I could see photos of her helping children or something, but these?

Looks more like: "Hey big boy, Do you know Jesus?"

She looks more like an Avon lady than a minister.

See they were made to be together. Eventually they will get back together. They are thinking and dressing alike.

You know what? I'd looked at that site in the past but had never realised that she has a rider for public appearances!

Who would have thought that spreading the word of God could be so high-maintenance? nuts

http://www.denisematthews.../index.htm

She has to have a penthouse suite! To be closer to God no doubt! She deftly explains it away by saying: People tend to make a lot of noise above me and I need my rest. Genius!!!

The funniest bit is about booking plane tickets: I would prefer to book my own tickets and seats and then you can pay it with a credit card over the phone.

I'm guessing she doesn't fly economy-class!

What I find a little fishy is the fact that she has so many pictures of her from her "Vanity" days in her scrapbook, and details the fame that she obviously "doesn't want/need" in her biography.

I still like her, though. biggrin

If you look at the posters that she designed, the font for the one titled "vanity lost" looked an awful lot like the Purple Rain type. Coincidence???

The first poster literally looks like a pile of shit. What's it supposed to be???

I like the fact that one of the poems is called "When Jesus Comes" LOL! Its number 10 on the Flash menu. The poem says that when he "comes" she'll be on "bended knee" and another line is "I wouldn't know to breathe"!!! LOLOLOLOL! I think she wants to blow Jesus or something.

She is either very insane or there is some heavy irony going on.

I looked at her site about a week or so ago and I noticed that poster, too, and how the font on it looked like PR script.

I couldn't read what the poster said because it was too small on my monitor and I didn't see anywhere to click to see a larger picture.

Could anybody else make out what it said?

I know nothing but weakness crept up to the bone,
Nothing but gasping aloud at the throne,
Agony sits by the window sealed shut,
Stalking me helpless, sunk down in my gut,
Freedom has cried out a word of despair,
Something has cut off the lungs from my air,
Borrowing help from a soul taht departs,
Shivering reckless where devils throw darts,
Why would my God save this body of wretch?
How will he mold in perfume...
From a stench?

How will he sow up the skin to my side? whofarted
Who then will love me if I'm still alive?

All then is Vanity, all that I lose,
He is the Christ,
And that's whom I choose!

I don't think that Maya Angelou would be losing any sleep...

I tried to download 'Vibrator and Nasty Girl' from the downloads section, and It read restricted area, so I e-mailed Denise and she said that fans will be able to download the entire Vanity 6 Record on easter sunday!

YAY!

I think Denise is out making an honest living spreading the word and sharing her beliefs with church groups. Evangelical speakers have to have something to testify about. Members of the congregation respond to a stories of overcoming hardships and finding the Lord. Other evangelical speakers travel around to churches talking about how they overcame drug habits, or they used to be in a gang but they've turned their life around. Denise has a story to tell, and church groups seem to be listening.

I understand her concept about Vanity and being 'vain', but doesn't the name of the book, 'Blame it on Vanity' sound like she was/is blaming Prince???

That's just what comes to mind whenever I hear of the title, not saying it is so at all, just probably the fact that he 'gave' her the name, that's all...

No not at all. Remember Vanity was just suppose to be her stage persona. But she became that person in real every day life. She's saying blame Vanity that poor lost person she became.

actually I don't know, I could be talking nonsense. But I do think that people can be just as destructive in the name of GOD as people on drugs. Where this is going I don't know.
