Mayte "Child Of The Sun" I have never heard Mayte's "Child of The Sun" album. Those of you who have heard it please give me your input of what you thought? And what does she sound like? | |

humm, i have it maybe some prince or mayte fan could burn it for you? i paid 28.00 for it which i was upset about after hearing it but later i did like it because there is so much PRINCE on it.
but her singing isnt great. jmo Amaya | |

It´s a decent album. One of the better "associated artists"-records. Many of the songs are really nice: If I Love U 2Nite", "However Much U Want", "House Of Brick", "In Your Gracious Name" and the title-track are all very nice! See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star... |

The songs are cool, but she can't sing, so overall it does suck, IMO With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A.... | |

It sucks,plain and simple.I'm sure you would want it because of the Prince connection,but honestly,this CD is garbage.Mayte is not a singer,and on these songs,she really has no personality.She sounds like just another half-dressed,non-singing,no-talent Prince protege/bimbo/sex kitten.The songs are mostly lame dance/pop tracks.On one song,Mayte even tries to rap!! Her attempt at serious vocalizing on "Love's No Fun" is humorous.And why oh why did Prince and Mayte have to butcher the old Commodores classic "Brick House" (now titled "House Of Brick")?
There is one bright spot on the album,the irresistible "Ain't No Place Like You".If Prince had given this outstanding song to a REAL singer,it probably would have become a smash. | |

Hey man, we all know that Madonna can't sing either. It's not that hard to get a record deal these days. I was actually surprised that she hasn't pursued the whole pop star thing further, because now days if you look good, that's about 80% of the deal, and you have a foot in the door. I thought she could have at least coasted on her looks for a while.
