So according to you, because Liv and Shelby are not Wendy, Lisa or Sheila you liken them to 'monkeys?' Those comments would be considered very racist, and really not necessary. It's one thing to criticize an artist's singing style, but your insults are just plain hateful and disgusting.

But if you look at the pattern of behavior towards Tamar, Shelby and now Liv its nothing but ignorant and vile name-calling bordering downright racism.

I don't get who forced anyone to turn on Jimmy Fallon's show last night to watch Liv perform and why there is so much hate thrown at 'specific' band associates of Prince's band all the time. It's not like Liv or Shelby J need permission from Prince fans, to seek and live their music careers or to have him promote/help them with their careers. He is doing the same for Hannah, Ida and Donna, yet none of those girls get this much hatred thrown towards them, like specific members of Prince's band...not surprised. Liv was GREAT on the Fallon show last night and the hornz section killed it! Loved her outfit too. She has a great voice and looking forward to seeing her live more and can't wait for her album to drop.

I couldn't agree more. When I went to see Prince with a friend who is not a fan a few years ago she loved Shelby's energy. But here, you would think she eats babies for breakfast, given the hate she gets. And it seems it's now Liv's turn... I don't think I'll be buying her CD, I don't care much about her music; good for her, though, for having a CD out and an appearence on Jimmy Fallon.

That's exactly what it is, and since no one wants to say it out loud, the bottom line is that those types of comments have been done over and over again to many of Prince's Black American band associates, and some pretend they don't see it, when it is so 'visible'. Yet these same posters wouldn't dare show their faces behind the ignorant, racist comments they make here on this board.

It's obviously jealousy, and because no one here wants to say it out loud, the bottom line is that some of Prince's fans hate seeing Prince promote Black artists, and it gets a bit twisted when they go on social media sites, and start spewing racist comments about them, just because of these band members association with Prince. It becomes a sick obsession, when a fan feels they have to spew that much, disgusting , racist hatred towards an artist because they claim they're sick of those particular artists being promoted or associated with Prince. It's one thing to constructively criticize an artist's music/music style, but referring to them with stereotypical, racist comments, obviously says a whole lot about the person making those type of comments.

...and neither does Ida, Hannah or Donna. They were all readily accepted by many fans here. Just read through the threads about them and you will see for yourself. I mean is there some type of 'Prince fan rule' as to which type of artists Prince is allowed/not allowed to associate or promote? I mean if some fans have a problem with some of Prince's band members of color being around him, then how much respect do they really have towards him as a Black American musician/artist? I mean that orger 'npgmc' referred to Liv and Shelby as monkeys, so it pretty much says ha lot about him and how he feels about 'certain' people.
