absolutely touring, and amazing. his talents are showcased on that stage better than with the time better than his solo stuff and its obvious D leans on him a lot. (in a good way). Not sure about recording.

I don't think that they're recording together. If they are recording together though, I doubt you'll hear the material on James River... Last time I checked, that album was supposed to be like 90% done with D'Angleo just adding vocals and other things into the songs. But who knows, maybe D'Angelo scrapped James River (again!) and started from scratch to showcase Jesse Johnson... I'm not complaining as that would be cool to have Jesse on the album but it would also mean waiting forever for this album... Again... Maybe Jesse and D's work together (if there is any) would be heard through one off singles, or B-sides... Or maybe on a new Jesse Johnson album

when did he start playing with him? wht date?

Jessie has in fact recorded with D'angelo for his upcoming album as well as Eric Leeds. Late night sessions that began after midnight but this was back in August and he was supposedly about finished then. Don't know why it is being held up now..
