Better to have 9 solid songs than have a bunch of filler that wont get listened to. In todays iPod age people most of the time don't keep albums together musically anyway. We mix the stuff we like together most of the time, UNLESS its one of those albums thats carries the same feel throughout and it works organically as a unit like that. But we'll have to see how this is..

I'm simply trying to figure out why so many orgers who are not interested in Andy seem to check everything about her when they clearly don't have to. Her CD isn't packaged with a Prince CD like Bria Valente's was. So why go out of your way to click on a thread on someone you have no interest in to proclaim for yet another time that you have no interest in her. I can understand if the music doesn't do it for you(that's an opinion based upon something) but since most of us haven't heard her CD what's the basis at this time. If on September 21st the fans rally on here and bash the CD and proclaim her a dud then it's got more standing than empty bitching over a few song snippets and photographs.

Unfortunately your assumption is wrong. As I wrote earlier, every damn Prince news is connected to her. If I wanna see Prince pictures of late, I have to see Andy. This applies to stuff here on org, her fb cause she's been referencing to Prince all the time. Currently she's the Prince news outlet..

I don't know what makes you think people wouldn't admit buying her album if they have interest. Do you think people here are joking when they say she's boring?

I have the feeling she wants to be an artist who´s happy she can work with Prince but still wants to be seen as an independent artist, not a Prince clone or Princyfied singer-like those from the past!(allthough I really love some of those productions)

And really, there are some so-called fans here who disslike EVERYTHING our prince is involved with these days : there´s a difference between criticism and negativity.

Compared to the last NPG-produced artwork, I'm quit impressed .

It's one thing for a recognisable face like Prince but for Andy it's insane. If they are trying to attract record companies / distributors then this is not the right way to do it.

This might explain why Shelby J. has not put out an album under NPG Records. She might be loyal to Prince but she has enough sense to record independently.

I don't hate her, but if I were trying to argue for her, calling her a smart and cool "fem" is not the way I would approach that. I would say she has a great voice. ONE BIG PROBLEM:

Perhaps it is just the slip cover so the actually jewel case inside will have her pic on it, like the shots from the video the other day, or some of the other shots that have been out lately, gotta use them for something?

You're really turning into a broken record which is kind of sad since you actually seemed to have good insights at one point. Now you just keep going on about Shelby J on every thread you hit.

It actually says, "Executive Produced By NPG". This means that Prince funded it, essentially.

This had been previously reported, along with that Prince co-wrote three songs. I'm sure he produced the entire album and played on every song.

And seriously has anyone on here listened to, Allo's first record, "UnFresh" from 2009? You might want to, before you spend a dime on this...

Between that and the snippets from "Superconductor"... not that impressed!

You can get all excited about the "purple yoda" showing his face, guitar or what not on her album all you want but you know, deep down inside, it's not the same thing as him releasing a new album or better yet listening to some of his older, truly awesome, stuff! (80's Prince is still the best!)

And besides, he'll end up doing the same thing, that he complains the record companies do to him... Pump something up and then let it fall flat, like a 20 year old basketball that's worn thin and can't stay fully inflated anymore. Because it'll be 'meh' with poor sales and then like a spoiled child with a new toy, he'll want something else after the novelty wears off.

I swear, if he spent half as much time on new material or maybe even attempting to put something decent together involving "the Vault" and/or a REAL WEBSITE that wasn't yet again another poorly executed venture (or were they just straight out, thinly veiled scams) he and us fans might actually be happy again... just saying!

I'm surprised the design is so tasteful for a Prince indie project! It does look like a classic album or best of compilation of some legendary group... which one is it? I can't quite remember.

Anyway I like the cover..its simple, like the gold...stands out on black (would be a cool vinyl cover too if it was released).

I really like the packaging, though I agree that it is more appropriate for an established artist. Newbies need to have their picture and name visible. Also, it would alo be helpful if it read "Executive Produced by Prince" instead of the NPG. I mean really, who are they kidding? Her image is by far her best asset and being produced by Prince is by far her best selling point.

That said, I will buy her album. I'm in Chicago, so I'm sure they will have them for sale at the upcoming shows. At this point, I'm hoping it's a Prince album with a female voice over it. That is all I can expect given that she's working with the NPG (not her own band) and following the same cryptic album release procedures as her mentor.

Nice Design- but it won't help a new artist in sales. Prince would have been smart to wrap a cd project like this. Marketing is marketing for a reason- it's about exposing the artist to people. Image is a lot as a new artist, Prince is established and can get away with just his name. Even using NPG is a bad move - should have said Prince instead. Makes me wonder if he has confidence in the CD. Hoping it's good music. I'll take good music from any source. Just a shame that this packaging won't benefit her much.
