I hope Prince doesn't own the name "Andre Cymone." If he makes a new album....

ADeluxe or The Original Andreven anyone?

I forget the story about how it changed from Anderson to Cymone. Even if Andre came up with it, I would not put it past Purple Guy to have copyrights to it.

Andre should be proud. It's a great song from my first listen, and I gave my dollar, as I believe and

support my President.

It's really good. It's amazing to hear Andre's voice on something new. Both the guitars and drums remind me of how similar Andre and Prince's styles are. I like the vibe. The only thing is... I wish it was more about a girl in Amerr- err- erri eh eh eh rica. I hope this song makes it to a new AC album. Gotta go pay my dollar now, so I can bump it in the ride! biggrin

If I heard this I would think right away that it was a track by Lenny Kravitz but then after the singing starts it sounds a bit like Bowie smile

Nice track AC!

thumbs up!

The song is perfect for its purpose. It's easy listening, yet original enough with the amout of edge needed for me to listen to it. Kinda like a supporter song for a football/soccer team, only it's pretty damn good. I expect the album to be a bit more musically challenging though. Nice job on the production! I wonder if he produced it himself.

cant put my finger on it but it sounds like a prince song, not sure which - sometimes The 1 U wanna C and then at times, Never take the place of your man, and then at times just any upbeat Prince song. Maybe Prince IS Andre Cymone?

Not a bad song. Just don't like the fact it's to support a campaign. To each their own I suppose. They won't be getting my money.

Great playing, great drumming. But mediocre song.

Also his vocal is paper thin.

The lyrics are dull and dont seem to have anything to do with Obama.

His hard to hear, fey delivery sure dont help that situaution either.

That the drums are way too loud in the mix are probably to hide all of these things.

The bridge made me yawn.

And the drums seem to get louder as the song goes on.

To the point of ear bleeding.

This song was better the first time when Prince did it as 'I could never take the place of your man'.

If you sign to a label with your Birth name, the label has no ownership of that. If its a made up name like The Time or The Family or The Revolution, that's another story.

Thank God there's not even the slightest hint of shit hop, neo stool, or any other hint of the current R&B sound whatsoever. He deserves extra money for that alone. lol Great song and for a great cause!

"This song was inspired by America electing Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States."

So, Andre Cymone was so inspired by America electing Barack Obama president that he wrote and recorded a song about it 3 1/2 years later??? If this is him excited about recording music again, it's no wonder he hasn't released anything in forever.

I love the style of this song -- soulful rock is where it's at. I'm not a big fan of America or Obama (I like Romney even less), so that aspect is a slight turn off. Still, it's a fun, rocking song ... but that thin voice is really unfortunate. It might be time for him to work together with another singer as the lead vocalist. I'd love an album of this style but with better singing.

If you think that your economy, your standard of life and your nation's place in the world won't differ enormously depending on the outcome of the election then I don't think you understand enough about politics to exercise your vote.
But as you say, to each their own I suppose.

I'm afraid I understand politics too much. Two hand picked candidates acting as if they're on opposing sides. In reality they are both owned and contolled by the same big money. This country is going down the tubes and you think either one of the two jokers is gonna be the savior? nutty
