Sorry, but I have to ask.

Is this the same "Jerome Benton" mentioned in this old article?

I find it mindboggling that these guys would create a great album and it

seems Jam and Lewis didn't have as much of a desire to hit the road as

they make money in their sleep while the other members have to eat.

It seems like these guys could have found a way to tour get out at least

3 times a month.

Notice how Morris, Jam, Terry, Monte, Jerome, and Jellybean all said that JESSE sabotogaed their plans. Where is their any basis to question the desire of Jam and Lewis?

I think people assume Jam and Lewis were the holdout because Morris, Monte & Jellybean(in his case in 2 bands) are touring. Also Jesse wanted to tour from what he revealed on Facebook. This makes it seem like Jam & Lewis don't want to tour. My opinion is that these dudes may make great music but I don't think they want to be around each other all that much. There's got to be a good reason it took 21 years to reunite.

yeahthat

Or even 3 or 4 smaller concerts (not stadiums) for 3 or 4 biggest cities in each region of the US.

East coast NYC or NJ, west coast LA, midwest Detroit or Chicago and south Atlanta.

That way most people would have been within 8 - 10 hour drive. If you wanted to see them play, you could hop in the car or train.

and Jam and Lewis wouldn't have been unneccessarily road haggard or take too much time away from their other production projects.

3 or 4 concerts this summer. That would have been GREAT.

Morris, Jam and Lewis remain tight. Morris and Jesse? Not so much. That says it all right there, imo.

That actually says more than you might think. If Jesse was the black sheep of the group then now that he's gone they should be more productive not less so. There is more to this story than they want to air to the public. The group seems to want to keep the O7 brand alive based upon the sporadic posts/updates on FB but they don't seem too commited to it right now. Hopefully that will change in time. In my opinion I think all 7 of these dudes have mad love for each other but that they don't necessarily like each other as much as the fans think they do. If it wasn't for the sake of business I don't think some of them would roll with each other at all.

They marketed the entire project around the reunion of the seven original members of The Time. Once Jesse refused to perform, that was all out the window. They have to reboot the whole thing.

Jesse's already black, so his actions would make him the white sheep in this instance wouldn't it? Since white folks use black sheep as a term of the white sibling that is bad in the family or not in align with the family; I think black folks should use it just the opposite as white folks; hence white sheep for black folks! lol lol lol

So they just drop it and keep it moving? No promotion, no shows. They should get some of those mind erasing sticks from Men In Black and just make us all forget it since it seems they have. lol

Isn't it obvious that Condensate is a forgotten project? It came out last October!

Jesse may have left the group but I think it was serious behind the scenes squabbling that led to the end of the promotion of this cd. Totally unexpected and sad. I wished the guys could have worked something out. and why can't they just do a show as the Original Six? I don't think anyone cares, they just want to see a show.

Not at all because guess who is playing in my city on Friday, Morris Day & The Time! Will they be playing any new tracks? Doubtful since they haven't at any of their other shows this year. Will Condensate be on sale at the venue? Again doubtful since we've not received any reports of that at previous gigs. Actions speak louder than interviews with no follow up to the promises. In comparison fDeluxe will have played NYC twice since dropping Gaslight in under a years time. If they wanted to do it they would be doing it. Only thing stopping them is them. Jesse threw them a curve ball true but that was over six months ago. Time's up!

That I'd definitely pay to see. Not giving MD & The Time another 40 dollars for a set I've seen three time already.

Just poppin' in one more time to say that it is really a sad thing this whole reunion never took off. It coud have been grand, or at least an opportunity for the longtime fans to see their heroes perform live in concert. But alas, thing go the way they go... neutral

You, like a lot of fans, confuse Morris Day and The Time with O7. And that's where you get totally turned around and confused. If O7 was a forgotten project or whatever, MD and The Time might already be playing the tracks off Condensate. It's just not at that point, where the band is writing the thing off and declaring Condensate a dead project. In fact, at last check they were hoping to relaunch the project with additional tracks and/or release another new album. Not sure where you got the idea that all this was to happen on a schedule and in a manner YOU DECIDE, but ummm, errrrr, uhh... ok. biggrin

Hmm... Jesse said himself that he quit after reflecting over the information, or to put it more accurately, lack of information, he felt he was getting in a conference call with the rest of the band. Not squabbling. But don't let facts get in the way, think whatever you like.

Your statement does not prove there was no squabbling. I have a hard time believing that Jesse left over one conference call. Ofcourse neither of us will ever know the true facts because we are not privy to what actually went down.

Regardless of what Morris, Jesse, Jimmy says, there has been no shows and that's a huge dissappointment. I just don't believe that its all Jesse's fault, but I guess I'll never know.

Where's the link to this information? I checked their FB page and not one bit of promotion or plans being posted just birthday well wishes and a Happy 4th post. As for it being on my schedule now your just being trite because the only updates I get on this group are from your posts. You seem to know their plans when no one else does or there would be other posters agreeing with you. If you can play guitar then maybe they should hire you cause you're already doing the PR shtick for them for free.

Also it is really easy to differentiate between Morris Day & The Time and The Original 7ven. One lineup is actively doing something and the other is actively not.

You are probably right., but to me this whole thing looks like Jesse, just being Jesse. I think the band kind of sees it that way, too, are are treading lightly around Jesse's departure. When you hear about how Condensate came together, it kind of sounds like they were on the outs with Jesse toward the late 90's early 2000's. I could be wrong, but I just get the impression that Jesse was always the hold up to a reunion of all seven members, and had one foot out the door all along. But something like that, we will never know really.

Jesse worked with Jimmy & Terry on Chaka Khan's Funk This record. I remember when Princefams.com was really active, there was a report that The Time recorded an album years ago, and had a statement from Terry about it. I think it was the early 2000's or late 1990's. But the record was never released.

So now wanting a band to get their act together and tour to support their music is 'spreading hate'? If you're referring to Jimmy's interview way back in April then that was the most recent info we've received and since then nothing. What happened with the auditions? If 6 out of 7 ain't bad then what's the holdup now? Jesse was not the problem. He wanted to tour and they didn't or weren't ready to or weren't going to. So his leaving didn't affect them not touring because they weren't in the first place.

Everything you said is true. I guess how this turned out is surprising. With the band being free of Prince and of the name there was much hype from them and fans regarding this reunion that has been 20 years in the making. I would have never thought that Jesse leaving would ever happen or no shows at all. From watching the documentary, all I saw was love and I swore we were in for a huge delight of seeing these guys live, at least for me for the first time. So yes we got a kick ass CD, but there is dissappointment of nothiing happening after that....at least for now.
