I finally got around to episode 2: overall I enjoyed it as far as reality shows go, and I understand that these two episodes were supposed to provide the "exposition" to give us every cast member's background so that was interesting enough. Having been divorced myself, I can empathize with how difficult it is to adjust to a life completely different than what you came to know as your truth and reality, so I look forward to cheering the ladies on as they try new things and continue to step out of their comfort zones.
So far, I'm enjoying Andrea Kelly the most for laughs. She seems to have a good spirit and is always ready to smile or laugh. Nicole is very even keel and I like that as well. Reality shows generally have too many high strung personalities and she seems pretty steady. Mayte is sweet, but Lord all those animals ! I did feel for her very much though as she discussed the loss of her son. We have a couple close to us who lost their infant a few years ago and the mother is still so deeply in grief, it's heartbreaking, and it's still extraordinarily difficult for her to be around small children, or hear of people discussing babies in her presence. It is often said that it simply is not the natural way of things for a mother to outlive her child, so it makes so much sense to me that the grief one feels when they are faced with that kind of tragedy is immeasurable...which brings me to that second wife of Prince's and her waving that damned smart phone all over the place with baby pictures: really ??? That was incredibly uncomfortable to watch given that it's so well known what Mayte went through with the loss pof a child. I thought it was crass and insensitive and certainly didn't earn the Manuela woman any cool points.
Fletcher the First Lady? I'll be interested to see how she can keep a spiritual balance with being on a tv show of this sort, and Jessica Conseco? I guess every show needs one trouble maker/controversial person to set tongues wagging, and she seems to be up for the task. Frankly speaking, she really could have saved the vagina segment for a non-filming day.
I agree with that last part of your post. I mean really? She talked about it so much, it was like Jessica was auditioning for a Vagisil or Summer's Eve commercial. |

You ain't lying!!! TMI on the whole vaj rejuvination and it seems like she can't wait to show her new lips off to Jose.
And Mayte is sooooo hopelessly Puerto Rican with her "Fabuloso" liquid soap!!!! OMG I love that about her and her momma is too into her biz. I did agree with that matchmaker about having all those animals all over the furniture... its a relatively small place and I started itching thinking she has 8 dogs and cats all on stuff. ACHOO!!!
You know momma Mayte is on dander patrol big time with the Fabuloso jabon all ova the place! WEPA!!
Oh and did you catch the extras with Mayte excerising some angry ghost out her house and burning sage?
I like this show and I like Mayte more now... but I still don't get how her and Mani are friends.

I'm laughing because I have a bottle of purple Fabuloso in my closet. It's usually either the turquoise or purple that I usually buy for cleaning. One question though? What's up with Mayte's mom and the fanny pack she wears high up above her waist? |

Her mom is like MY mom... my mom tucks ALL her money/coins/phone/hairbrush/etc. in her bra.
Guesss Mayte's mom doesn't have the boobies so she opted for the fanny pack. [Edited 6/29/12 13:35pm] |

Okay watched the clip- Too crazy that she bought a house KNOWING there was a murder / suicide there. And she doesn't seem too scared of the ghost. Now I don't feel so crazy, I just moved out of a house with a ghost. He used to come out of the closet (in empty guest bedroom) at about 3 a.m every morning, walk around the house, then just go back in. It was crazy, you would just hear the closet doors opening/ him walking around/ and then he would return and shut the doors. People staying over would hear it and shit ten bricks. One friend even went and spent the rest of the night in his car! |

I like Fabuloso! You can buy it in Miami too. My sister still picks up a bottle when she passes through there to visit her in-laws. I need to tell her to send me some
I was dying when Mayte was talking about the matchmaker and the Fabuloso soap, using the Spanish pronunciation, and basically saying what the heck is wrong with my Fabuloso ?
Matchmaker woman just didn't know ---Fabuloso is the bomb---she betta ask somebody

Girl, how come you didn't have some Holy Rollers come and pray over your space??? I would been a holy oil anointing heffa all over that house
Unfortunately I won't be able to see the extras because they're on VH1's site and they won't stream to Europe (I'm watching the show bootleg ), but you know what? Some people are just advanced enough spiritually that ghosts don't phase them. Shoot, if you feel got the Creator in your corner, it makes it hard to pay a ghost any mind- just on principle that the Most High means exactly that," THE most high" so a lil ole ghost ain't no match and ain't nothin' to worry about |

LOL. My mom used to use Pine disinfectant in the green and white can years ago when she cleaned the house. I started doing the same thing when I left home, but years later the company changed it to a plastic bottle, and not too many supermarkets carry the can anymore. I just started using Fabuloso about 5 years ago, and as a matter of fact just used some this morning to mop my floor in the dining/kitchen areas. Has a nice smell to it. I wouldn't be surprise if bottles of Fabuloso start flying off the supermarket shelves now because it was mentioned on the show. That tends to happen when someone mentions a product on a show, especially everytime Oprah used to mention some of her favorites on her show. Fabuloso sounds like the name of a dance...

That's how I felt! Like, "God is stronger than any demon, any ghost so I'm good!" And GOD KNOWS I don't want shiz to do with any demon, any ghost, any bad spirit, no foolishness for me! I ignored it and while I was there, thank goodness, it ignored me!
Although, I must admit, if I took my dogs to pee pee in the middle of the night, I was most uncomfortable walking by that room! No joke! |

The other thing I noted and hoped someone here could help with it.....Mayte said she lost two babies. We know about what I assume is the first, did she get pregnant a second time by Prince? Was it a miscarriage?
I was wondering the exact same thing after watching the show. I'm not sure if the second baby was with Prince, or it was with Tommy Lee. Sad that neither pregnancy worked out for her. I don't think you ever, truly get over the loss of a child. I think you kind of learn to accept it, and to move on with your life, as best as you can. But that would be a very, very difficult thing to do. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. |

It was so funny, the guy staying over, when I told him about the ghost was like, "Pishaw, I'm not scared of no ghost and don't believe in em anyway! bring it on!"
Dude was laid out in the back seat of his car next morning- hahaha
I am glad the ghost didn't bother you.
Thank you Paintedlady |

She didn't show any sensitivity 15 years ago when these events were unfolding. Why should she be any different now.

I'm laughing because I have a bottle of purple Fabuloso in my closet. It's usually either the turquoise or purple that I usually buy for cleaning. One question though? What's up with Mayte's mom and the fanny pack she wears high up above her waist?
I like Fabuloso! You can buy it in Miami too. My sister still picks up a bottle when she passes through there to visit her in-laws. I need to tell her to send me some
I was dying when Mayte was talking about the matchmaker and the Fabuloso soap, using the Spanish pronunciation, and basically saying what the heck is wrong with my Fabuloso ?
Matchmaker woman just didn't know ---Fabuloso is the bomb---she betta ask somebody
Dang is it really that good?? I got to google this. I bet you can buy it on Amazon. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack |

Woah, I don't blame your friend. I think if I saw a ghost in the house where I was visiting, I would spend the night in my car too.

I would be in that car in the dead of winter. I don't play when it comes to that mess.
Also when I go to funerals, I say a little "prayer" telling the recently departed;

You can't buy Fabuloso on Amazon..it's a multipurpose cleaner, but you can buy it in supermarkets that carry it.
