"Let Me Let You Rock Me" by Sue Ann Carwell (1981)

Who remembers this Sue Ann Carwell single from the summer of '81? As we all know,Prince was working with her on demos in the late 70s but an album never materialized. This song features no Prince involvement.

I do, thanks for posting this, haven't listened to it in a long time. Still like it! smile Enjoyed seeing her in Mpls back around this time and then she seemed to disappear (which I've read about in recent years).

It seems like she almost became Prince's first protege. He was working with her in 1978/79.

The b-side was Prince's Make It Through The Storm, co-written by Chris Moon and "borrowed" by him and Sue-Ann, most likely without P's consent.

I never heard of this song before now. The first time i heard of Sue Ann was

on 1988's Blue Velvet with her remake of Rock Steady. It was a nice album.

She just did a blues album Blues In My Sunshine in 2010 following Jesse's

release of VP. Jesse can be heard over the album. She also sung background

vocals on some VP tracks.

Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
