I will too. It sounds a bit like it reminds me of that Jackie Collins book, Hollywood Wives

Good freggin' grief.
Why the hell do you people think that if someone is interested in Mayte or are pro Mayte that they are "anti-Prince"?
These two ARE related... all things Mayte give us a window into some things Prince (even if it is just his past). We are Prince fans... and meeting and greeting with Prince associates present and past is always gonna generate interest.
This is why VH1 signed miss Mayte up instead of the gagillion other ex-Hollywood wives they could have went with. Prince is THE man... I love Prince, and I will support him and his peoples. So yes I AM interested in Mayte and what she may say, especially if its positive, funny, intimate or something that strikes at the heart about Prince.... because Prince is so mysterious and secretive, getting any glimpse into his personal life is always going to be accepted.
This is why ya'lls asses are here on this thread just like me. We who like Mayte do so because there was a connection with Prince, those of you who hate on her do so because of her connection with Prince. Ya see? We are all here for the SAME damn reason... like her or hate her, we want more Prince!

where exactly in this thread is it mentioned that if you like mayte, then your anti-prince? that would be a ridiculous thing to say . i could be wrong (cuz i definitely don't feel like reading the whole thread again ) but i doubt that this was said. all i was saying was just because some people like her and thinks she is sweet, doesn't mean that we all have to like her and think she is sweet. some people will like the show, some people will not, it's just of matter of taste/opinion.

Yes I do defend Mayte because she is MY FRIEND. She is somebody I care about and somebody very close and dear to me. That is not being obsessive, thats being a friend. WHy would you defend Prince? Is he a friend? Does he give a rats ass about you? Get back to reality my friend. I have a right to say the things I do because its all truth. Its not from a second hand source, its from me, my own head and things I have experienced so be it with Mayte or Prince. So that is not obsessive, that is reality.
And I don't have a bad thing to say about her because no matter what me and her go through, we are friends and are there for each other, so you I will defend her TO THE NINES(whats with the Prince speak when you typed that? Obsessive maybe?). She is a sweet genuine person who never let herself get caught up in the hollywood bullshit either with or without Prince. She is totally accessible and has become friendly with fans of hers. And believe me, she could flap away to the media if she wants, you do know written contacts are only good a total of 7 years, there is a statute on them. But she does not want to be that person. SHe is greatful for what Prince did for her, and the times they were together, so she has no interest in trashing those memories. SHe is not the person to go on a trash mission, and I KNOW THAT for sure. And the only reason I know what I know about there relationship is because I was around in those days and saw it for myself, it was nothing she told me.
And of course Mayte cares about you, she responds to all Facebook posts, holds bellydance classes her fans can attend and if you were to walk up to her in the street and say hi, which happens on occasion, she will take the time to talk to you. Try to approach Prince on the street and see how quickly his big ass bouncer beats you down. I am sure there are plenty of people here on the org who can attest to Mayte being accessible and approachable, some of them have become good friends to her, and they will always say how sweet she is.
So stop hating on Mayte, the relationship she had with Prince(jealousy on your end maybe?) and her new project. If you were approached to do a reality show about you, would you turn it down? Hell no you wouldn't. But the problem is nobody cares enough to approach you about a show, so please don't hate on the people who there are interest in.
I did not know about the 7 year statute on written contracts. For some reason I think this was a factor in Mayte being on this show and even that candid interview a couple of years back. At the same time Mayte has never said anything disparaging about prince. But with this legal contract statute she may feel cleared to even appear on this show. I recalled that melted man was in the legal profession. Possibly a lawyer on the east coast. I maybe mistaken but that was what I read during a discussion about that NY nightclub confrontation between Prince and Mayte. Melted man along with others were at the club That night. And it was said that he was a lawyer that had business with prince and Mayte and remained friends with Mayte when the Split happened. But that he was not her divorce attorney. That is why I thought that melted man was an attorney as well and therefore may know what he is talking about when it comes to contracts. If this is true we may hear more about mayte's life during her Time with Prince. Things we have never heard before. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

So now you got your eyeroll on too because I called out the silly assed arguments about Mayte vs. Prince?
Listen it is implied that you and others are doing this whole Protegee vs. Prince argument and disagreeing on Mayte's motive's and even stated she annoys you...
what's the point in dogging her? What's the point in arguing over stuff that doesn't even matter? Why argue if she's sweet and argue what her motives are? You nor I now her... even if we did .... so what? Can't read her mind now can we?
Chile, it doesn't matter what her damn motives are... we want to just know about her and more importantly ... satisfy our own curiosities... what ever they may be. There is no need for disagreement.
BTW, I am with melted man on this because he never said one word against Prince(I say that because of the defensive tone about Prince on this thread) , AND my own direct corresponses with Mayte have all been positive, that lady really is very approachable, friendly and generous.
The thing is Prince doesn't deal with shitty personalities... ALL his women/asscociates are "good people". Prince has no time for BS, and I for one don't blame him.

A debt that is related to a contract is only good for 7 years. There is a 7 year statute of limitations (SOL) for debt that can stay on your credit report or that can be actively collected upon. FYI- (In the Old Testament debts were forgiven every 7 years.) There is also a SOL for filing a breach of contract suit. Every state has its own laws, but the time runs from the discovery of the breach (cause of action). A written contract (in general) may have a time limitation written within the contract, or it may not. All contracts do not expire in 7 years. Think about it, there are a lot of P Ex's from the 80's on up who are bitter & would love to dish trash on P, some who make little digs whenever they can. Yet where are all the tell all books and interviews? The 80's was more than 7 year ago. PaisleyRose was here

Regardless of any legal mumbo jumbo, Mayte is not going on the show to disparage Prince. She is going on the show so people can see how her and all these ladies have coped with life since there divorces and how they have reboiunded and gone on with there life since their high profile relationships ended. This is not going to be a show where they fight and rip each others hair out of each others head.
I have had the pleasure of being involved in some of the shoots and these women get along with each other and show an inner strength to deal with what they have had to deal with since their high profile splits. THey are going to be discussing their own life experiences, not showing any bitterness towards the men they married. A couple of the exes are appearing on the show for god sakes, so you know this is not gonna be an attack on these men. And despite all that Mayte and Prince have been through, she is in no way going to attack the man or try to "EMBARASS" him as one Minnesota newspaper put it. People are obviously interested in these ladies or this show would not have happened.

I can hardly wait!
Psych! He NEVER would! Just kiddin!

That's a damn shame. We can use Prince ex-girlfriends as a unit of measure for crazy and bittnerness. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Wow, this thread is still going? How about everyone just wait for the show, let it happen, before making all kinds of assumptions. I doubt Mayte is on that show to throw Prince under the bus. During the opening weekend of the 3121 shows in Vegas, Mayte was at that show, and Prince walked all they way from the stage to her table to give her a hug, so I doubt she's on the show to disgrace him, as it seems they continue to respect one another's private lives.

True, but wasn't it a few years after that show when she wanted tickets and his camp told her "she was allowed to go but would have to pay like everyone else?" as in, "Prince doesn't think you're anyone special"- Really shitty imo and obviously hers, as she posted about it on her facebook. But I still don't think she's going to trash him. Still, ,would've been nice if he'd just thrown her some VIP tickets, out of respect instead of telling her she was "allowed" to come to his show but not important enough for any special treatment.

Well, that really wasn't/and isn't any of my business, as that was between Prince and Mayte, and I don't think anyone should be that upset about something that had nothing to do with any of us really. Just my two cents.
