Kool & The Gang are still throwin' down. I saw them in '08 with the new lead singer and they rocked the house. Of course, I never liked JT anyway because I preferred their funk era to the crossover era. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Mike (& Marlon) left The Jacksons, not the J5. Jermaine left the J5. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

sometimes i think ur enjoying all of this 2 be honest man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

In all seriousness L4OA. When you mentioned 'MD & The Time performing condensate tracks in July' I thought that was a valid point. if there's no O7 are the outher line up going to start doing the new tracks or keep the older setlist. Things like this need to be made known for the fans because some of us haven't gone to an MD & The Time show because of the setlist in quite a while. Right now we all want to know what's up with the future of the group and I thought the tweet was an inappropriate response to all the fan questions posted on FB/Twitter since December. It didn't answer anything and then it told you to wait 7 days for nothing. If I knew for a fact that new songs were going to be played at the BB Kings gig then I'd buy a ticket tomorrow. I think a lot of people would. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Jermaine & Jackie also had solo albums at Motown while the J5 was active. Tito recorded one that wasn't released. The brothers didn't have a choice in what was recorded and released at Motown. That's why they had a Christmas album when they were Jehovah's Witnesses. Mike said later he didn't even remember recording a lot of the stuff, because they were constantly working. I chose not to see them last July because I was going to see "Voodoo Chile" the week after, and didn't want to go through all the expenses associated with going to Midtown from NJ two weeks in a row. I also kind of felt like, "Seen it ". But I would try to go if some of the new stuff was to be played...

I want O7 to continue with Torri Ruffin if Jesse isn't going to be in the fold. Jesse is the better guitarist, but Tori is the better showman and the live shows would definitely improve from an energy and attitude standpoint. Tori ROCKS! And I would LOVE to hear Jimmy Jam getting loose on the bass synth with Terry Lewis thumping his bass and Tori churning out those high energy heavy metal licks. I LOVE Jesse, but I thought his live act within O7 was a bit too controlled and he seemed to be a bit DOWN all the time. Isn't the live show supposed to be a party? So, imo, O7 should continue to promote CONDENSATE, thank Jesse and wish him well with his new gig, and keep the party going with Torri Ruffin. I honestly think the live shows will be BETTER with Torri in the lineup.
And I've said this two years ago. The Tribune mentioned the same thing this past summer. Jesse was not feeling it and it showed onstage. Now that he has stepped down, the live shows will probably come off a lot better. Even if they might lose something in terms of Jesse's technical profeciency.

When The Beatles were still together, George released 2 solo albums and John released 2 or 3 with Yoko. I'm glad I saw the OG 7 when I did. I like Jesse in the group, because I also like his set, (Free World, Be Your Man, Can You Help Me), etc. Jesse had jams of his own and I still like hearing them. I'd go see Jesse playing by himslef just to hear his cuts.

to me thats the problem. Jesse should not have his own set. If so he should open or tour on his own. He wants to be bigger than the group. This is the Time's show and it should only be their stuff. Move on Jesse and bring in Tori

Ummm, Jesse was doing his thing while it looked like Morris was chilling, taking a break. You know, the same thing Prince does while his backup Shelby sings Misty Blue or Brown Skin during his shows. Singers are allowed to take breaks you know. At the show I went to, they were loving Jesse. You'd see the reaction from the crowd. The crowd was into it, they went wild. Grown men were running up to the stage with their hankies out giving him props. You're the same person on here who wrote that nobody has ever heard of Jesse or D'Angelo...(I find that strange, especially on this site). People shouldn't act like Jesse is some also ran, non factor. The truth is he had some serious tunes and his own fans. It's like getting two concerts in one, that's definitely a plus. I wanted Morris to do Character, Color of Success, I mean, why not? I look at it as a great addition, not something negative. I like The Time, Jesse, and Morris Day's music.

Morris does not take a break with the imitation Time band. Im sure Jesse demanded his own set to do this. Jesse has always been selfish and thinks he is the star of the band. I just hope he is gone and the fellas can move on

Well hello, Part Time doesn't have Jesse. If they did, maybe it would be a different story, maybe some breaks would be taken. Okay so Jesse played his songs at The Original 7 show. I didn't see anyone complaining where I was, just partying. I skipped Part Time over the summer to see what Full Time was going to do. I got my wish, and wasn't disappointed. Jesse is a draw. I was hoping Jesse would do his songs and he did. I'm not going to get that with Part Time (no dis to them). I was also looking forward to the OG's playing the new songs this year, but if that won't be happening, life goes on.

Well at least he is gone now. No more worrying about it. I know if I was Morris, Jam or Lewis I would take exception to a band member demanding to play his solo stuff during OUR show. It should be about the band's material and not any one individual. Thats just my thoughts though. Either way Jesse is gone now so I guess we dont have to worry about it

How do you know anybody demanded anything? On the Jacksons' Victory Tour, they did both Mike & Jermaine solo songs. The Eagles do solo songs during their concerts. New Edition also do songs from solos (BBD, Bobby, Johnny, Ralph). Morris does solo material, why do you make exception for him? I also heard that Jam & Lewis did a solo spot when the group played in Vegas. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. In Vegas in 08, they all got a spotlight. They did a Monte song, a Jam and Lewis song, a Jellybean song and Jesse's spotlight. Now they stopped playing the other members songs but continued the Jesse spotlight. As far as Morris taking a break for this, The O7 shows are longer than the normal touring band show so that's understandable. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Honestly if Jesse isn't going to play with the O7, I wish he would do his own gig. I have no interest in seeing him back up D'Angelo or anybody else. Tori would be a great replacement as he has been with the touring band since they started up in 95 and has played the material way more than Jesse and does the steps.

I have seen Jesse and Tori with the Time and honestly I prefer Tori as he has much more energy. Jesse is better no doubt but boring to watch. I definately will not be seeing D'angelo. I HATE his music(but I am not an R&B fan much at all). I wish Jesse well. Hopefully Jam and Lewis will consider playing with Tori but I expect this is the end of the O7. At least we got a good cd out of them!!

I can't stop listening to the "Condensate" album. Great, great album that is unfortunately unnoticed by most of people and the media! And I'm not happy to hear that Jesse left The Original 7ven, his bass play in "Sick" and in "One Step" is amazing. The whole album has very good tracks, I can't even deside which one is my favorite because every song is a surprise and I can't describe how happy I am with this album. Thank you for a great work to the all The Orininal 7ven members. Looking forward for more projects from you,... if you guys did this album by yourselves you can do anything and more!
