Ingrid Chavez (Black Eskimo) releases new video -album coming soon
Ingrid lives in my neck of the woods so I think it's cool that I can kinda recognize the roads and areas she's in in this video. I even know the drummer in the video. Anyway, I actually like this video and song.
Cool. Honestly I wasn't that into the last album though I really liked the lead single. I'm always interested in what Ingrid is up to, so this is most definately on my radar.
The sound of this track would probably go over well in the UK with a little promo.
I got a friend request by Black Eskimo on myspace some weeks ago. At first I had no idea who it was
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I actually think in some ways (the phrasing, for example, I find her phrasing very distinct) this song is right in line with some of the material from the last album, which I loved . Some elements/instrumentation defintiely changed up. But I could hear a stripped/slowed down version fitting well into the last project, or as a companion. It's different enough to keep things interesting, yet similar enough to make it recognizable as hers.
Can't wait for the album. I love painting to her music.
I stopped judging based purely on "skill" a few years ago. I came up in a time when people ALL had skills, including songwriting and something interesting about their music. Now I hear people with skill turning out crap just as well, so I started realizing you don't have to be all things to be good. She definitely CAN sing. She's not a GREAT singer, but has has a style and feel I'd rather listen to that some who can tediously belt it out. The whole package sells it to me. Watch the Edge play guitar in "It Might Get Loud" and you'll find he's not the best player out there, but his ability to make the sound he gets with his effects and the context of who he plays with makes it really, really good. Meanwhile I saw Steve Vai perform- and yes - he is a killer guitar player, but I was bored after two songs. And he should stop wearing such tight pants.

I see it that way too. She's not an awesome singer but this is a cool project, and for what it's worth it's more interesting than a lot of stuff on the radio right now.
