The extended version is about 6:35 and is very fun. I love the "Steph! Play!" part.

Its 6 minutes...there are some more spoken parts like "I like blondes..nah..i like all men's" and alot more drumming...really big climactic last minute or two.
Nouveau and Efan yeah I agree..it is so so good. Heard it one time 2 years ago at a Prince party and was very suprised I didnt have it. It is so so funky!!! Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I think a few Sheila remixes/extended versions were only released in Europe, which is a shame. Besides Holly Rock, there's the extended version of Love on a Blue Train and the Special Medley that we never got here in the States (at least until the web made it easy to share).

This is one of my favorite Sheila jams. Very infectious.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Gonna see Sheila E. the Saturday after next--so hope she plays this! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Never heard it, but I'm sure it's I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Another version exists. It's the album version on the 'Krush Groove Soundtrack, this version duration is 4:56. Not a big deal but for completists... "And In The End, The Love you Take Is Equal To The Love You Make"

I have never been able to get into this song. I don't like Sheila's rapping, I prefer to hear her sing. It's annoying the way she repeats the words Holly Rock over and over.

Oh yeah, hee-hee, I have the album - just meant I only have the 12" promo, not the general release 12"
