TY for making my brain farts look like they are done with purpose.

But that is the beauty of a Freudian slip...it isn't intentional...it is totally unintentional by the subconscious! So, enjoy the beauty of it! lol

I will add, it is hypocritical IMHO to dog Prince on a wedsite that's called Prince.org and then say to orgers here that they must be stalkers if they friend Manuela and dog her on her page.

There is no difference... people will have opinions - good and bad, of a person they are interested in.

I think some here shouldn't be so quick to judge.

That is my point. So are orgers here "stalkers" because they say negative things about Prince?

Or are they just as pathetic as the people they say do the same thing to Manuela or are we all just people with opinions? hmmm

[Edited 3/7/11 17:54pm]

I really don't like where this culture is going when so many people are desperate to get their own sad and stupid reality shows or desperate to be BFFs with people who just might get a reality show or had something to do with someone famous at one time. It is ridiculous...and now it is out of control... disbelief

who doesn't wanna be rich for no reason like those jersey shore kids? i'd love to be on a show like that...

yoda i don't wear a cross?!!? i wear a prince symbol prince guitar wacky nutty I When Prince's cum dries, diamonds are formed. lol eek drooling no one tops prince in concert!

Seems that still no one has explained why they 'friended' her in the first place?

She's not an actor, musician, or anything else that I am aware of.

Unless she's actually your friend or at the very least someone you're a fan of, why would you want to know what she's up to?

Face it, it is stalkerish or at the very least just plain weird to friend Prince's ex just because she was once married to Prince.

I am 99.99999% sure none of you are 'friending' her because you want to donate to whatever the fuck her 'charity' is.

I did. it's on page one somewhere. I admitted, I friended her because he's prince's ex. I am midly interested in her because of that. I could carel less about her products or charities. although I am happy she helps kids. I do not go out of my way to try and talk with her....but I do find it amusing at times to see what she has to say. It's not stalkerish at all...just curiosity. I'm "friends" with Mayte too...but I genuinely love her (using that term loosley...I don't know the woman) I've always been a fan of Mayte.

And there is not nothing wrong with that. Many people gain interest in people who are or were associated with Prince.

Like I said, people can are should allowed to have opinions, and yup... many people here do bash Prince. They aren't "stalkers" to me and neither are you.

I like Mayte as well, Mani... I never gotten as interested in her for some reason, but I do see her appeal to many here.

I can understand someone friending Mayte. She's at least an 'entertainer' of sorts. She actually does have ongoing projects. The Manuela thing, I don't get because she's really nothing but an ex-wife, you do seem like a level-headed person, and I apologize for the 'stalkerish' comment. It's just something I personally don't get.

I didn't friend her... it is an assumption that most people here have. Maybe a few are friends with her on facebook...

I thought the ones that did friend her were helping to support her charity? I could be wrong...

I did friend Mayte though, I like to bellydance, and support Mayte's projects (buy her products), the same goes for Sheila E. Sheila E is actually a very interesting individual. Prince, also. Heck that's why I am here... I don't stalk Prince either.

I wouldn't call it stalking if I support their work. It is a stretch to call people "stalkers" if they disagree with one action that Mani has done and yet support her charity.

I would like to assume that people who have friended Manuela are doing the same as I do with regards to supporting her work.

[Edited 3/7/11 17:30pm]

I can see 'friending' Mayte and Sheila. Or joining their fan pages, or whatever. They continue to do work. They actually are entertainers who have projects.

I doubt most of the people who've 'friended' Manuela are there to support her charity. There may be a few, but I'm betting it's very few.

The difference in joining a site called Prince.org and then 'bashing him,' as you call it and being someone's 'friend' on their personal page is extremely different IMHO.

This is an open forum where people discuss Prince and his music. Good, bad, and otherwise.

A person's Facebook page is a personal page they've set up for their friends & family to stay in touch with them. Not a place for fans of their ex's to wait for them to 'spill some info' on the ex (and then get all butt hurt when it's not what they want to hear).

Exactly.

There are any number of steps Mani could take, if she so chose, to make her FB truly 'friends and family' only. She could make her page not available to even be found by anybody but her own family and circle of actual friends...yet she doesn't. She could make it so that random, unknown strangers aren't able to even send her a friend request...yet, she doesn't, she allows anybody to friend her. Or, she could, at the very least, NOT ACCEPT requests from those people she doesn't know personally...yet again, she doesn't. Mani, HERSELF, allows strangers to see what she posts.

^ Exactly. Which makes what she posted all the more wrong knowing she was telling strangers things that don't concern them. No matter how anyone tries to spin it she knew exactly what she was doing.

Well for me its like...

"An Alturu candle for HOW MUCH???" whofarted

Naw, um... I am wayyy to practical/cheap to pay 50 some odd bucks for a candle. hmph!

Mayte promotes those candles on her FB page too. I am sure they are lovely candles, but there is too much nice stuff I can buy like that for 10 bucks or less were I live, never mind the major discounts w/ Yankee Candle and the like. wink

Now some people do use their FB pages for promoting books, beauty products, and other stuff like that.

Specialty companies like Carol's Daughter, Godiva, Santa Rosa Gardens, etc. also have pages just for buyers on FB... I think Manuela is trying to get her "business" out there the same way.

All that said.... that is even more reason why Mauela should not post PERSONAL thoughts on a page were she is trying to promote her business, unless she just likes to make random folks her friend. eek

I wonder how this would have played out had she posted 'Prince has a huge penis!' or 'Prince was the best lover I ever had!'

I'm pretty sure not as many people would be offended by her opinions at that point.

Yep, can't mix business with personal, it ruins the professional image.

Another thing I was thinking about is that people have been fired for the things they say on their profile pages. Personally I feel that a page is personal and private, but in actuality, anything you post on the web is public and it has been used against persons making 'statements' or misusing social pages.

Just saying.

right and with Prince's litigious ways, she better hope he doesn't syc his lawyer on her for defamation of character (if it is not true) or re-open their divorce settlement (if it is true and covered by the nondisclosure clause that I just KNOW he had her sign as part of their settlement.)

yeah- Yankee candles give some people headaches from all the fake stuff in them. Say what you will, but i got one of those candles as a gift, and it is nice. and it's lasted me almost three years. And the purchase benefits a foundation (which is why my friend shopped them in the first place. She has no idea who Manuela is or who she was married to. I'm the one who told her..lol.)

I said the same thing when I saw the price of those candles! HOW MUCH?

yeah- Yankee candles give some people headaches from all the fake stuff in them. Say what you will, but i got one of those candles as a gift, and it is nice. and it's lasted me almost three years. And the purchase benefits a foundation (which is why my friend shopped them in the first place. She has no idea who Manuela is or who she was married to. I'm the one who told her..lol.)

I love me some Yankee candles ! (Hazelnut- Yum!) but if her candles last 3 years maybe I would buy one! Plus of course, anytime it's for a charity... I would just have to remember it's for charity as I just can't shake not liking that woman smile

I feel sorry for those people because I LOVE Yankee Candles too. My favorite is Clean Cotton. Makes everything smell fresh as freshly laundered clothes.

I just can't see a $50 candle smelling any better than Yankee Candles. hmph!

Do you guys know how much of the proceeds go to charity, does it specify that on the site when you purchase it?

Copper is expensive, and this may be bringing up the costs for the candle line. The copper containers are beautiful.

Yankee Candle uses organic oils... and Mani's company may use the same source for oils. Her candles may be hand poured, but I like paying 20 dollars for 150 hours of burn time.

@ Zannaloaf: I respect your friend and others for helping others by supporting her charity work thumbs up!

nod probably because at $55.00, she only uses it for "special" occassions.
