Maybe, but who wasn't in those days? I think it's more a case of similar age/influences/upbringing/ethnicity etc. than a strategic plan to rip him off... Both have that cutie-pie-guitar-god thing going on...

If anything, in the beginning (when Jesse was hired) there was a bit of the opposite going on... Prince copied Jesse. P started wearing purple, after seeing Jesse continually wearing pink/hot pink suits on tour. I believe this has been documented by several Time and Revolution members over the years.

I guess that must've been during The Time's first tour around 1981, because in that same year Prince released his Controversy album which sort of was his first promotional

appearance in purple. One of the earliest public appearances i saw of Jesse in a pink suit was on American Bandstand around 1982 where The Time performed "The Walk"

and "777-9311".

When they got Jesse from Illinois to form the Time, he had never heard of Prince (early 1981.)

Not true! Prince is the one that bought Jesse a pink suit to wear... It was Prince idea for Jesse to wear that color pink.....He knew it would get Jesse attention and he was right....But Prince did copy Jesse's curly locks

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Listen to JJ's "Nevermind Saturn Sunrise" and other cuts off Bare My Naked Soul and then to Prince's "Boom" and other cuts off Lotus.

Then tell me who's copying whom nowadays.

Jesse's been about building off of Jimi's foundation for a good long while. Prince has made a definite shift/return to it in recent years.
