Except for I think Mani is from Canada, which negates the "American" part. lol

stirthepot

and just where is Canada?? On the North AMERICAN continent....

lol Then why aren't Mexican-Americans refered to as simply "Americans?" It's more specific to say Mexican or Canadian.

Whatever -- I don't really care -- I was just pointing out that I didn't think Manuella is from the USA.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

You are correct, Mexican American is redundant. I know what you were saying... just wanted to point how ego centric we are in USA.

Canadians are Canadians. They were born in the Dominion of Canada.

Mexicans are Mexicans. They were born in the United States of Mexico.

Americans are born in the United States of America.

I am a Mexican American. In other words, an American of Mexican descent.

Yeah. That is the country's official name, "Estados Unidos Mexicanos". It is printed on their money. When speaking about the country they refer to it as the Republic of Mexico. (La Republica Mexicana)
