Definitely not done, but it does sound good thus far. Paul emailed me right as he was upload it to the site. He asked me to take a listen to it.

I LOVE IT! It's moody, and sexy. I think Susannah is almost channeling her punk side on the vocals there. I can't wait to hear the fully finished track on the CD.

Man, this project is ridiculously awesome.

There's a newer mix (mixed, but not mastered) of "@8" that I played on my radio show last week. I loved the improvements they made to the original rough demo that was on the Fdeluxe site for the longest time. Paul said it best in the interview that it's "grown up love" on this album. He's spot on.

I'm totally digging the rough mixes -- almost afraid to hear finished versions. Will be great to have both though. BRING ON THE ALBUM!

Big fan of the band and can't wait for the new album. So far Gaslight is my least favorite of all the sneak peeks we've heard via websites of ustream sessions. Didn't make me want to go back and play it again like the others have. Still looking forward to the album though. cool

Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I like this song ! I don't know why it reminds me (a little) of a W and L song (well the beginning...).

About the picture :

1. Where's Jerome ?

2. Susannah is a beautiful woman !!!

"open your heart, open your mind
A train is leaving all day..."

Jerome is just doing his own thing, mainly with The Time. There's no animosity or anything. He just chose to not be involved with this one.

Still begs the question how Jellybean Johnson will do the same. He's in both groups as well. However, it'd be nice to have both bands tour together, and then the problem would be solved.

Definitely a good funk song with lots of W&L vibes going on. I would prefer a dirtier, less clean sound to underline the punk vibe a little bit more. A crazy solo wouldn’t hurt either in face of the kinda tame ending.

Yet another VERY promising peek into the kitchen of FDeluxe... Can't wait to be served! cool Indeed this is becomming "ridiculously awesome"... I alsso got the W&L vibe from this mix, but that't kinda inevitable I suppose... I guess that effect will be much less with the definite mixes for the album. Love W&L though... wink

Was he really involved in the first one? Were any of them?

If you want to go down that road, do it in another thread. It wasn't Prince playing on stage in 1985 at First Avenue.

Was Jerome ever involved in The Time? What does he do? Play a bongo, and hold a mirror? You really want to dismiss him, then shoot for the moon, or STFU about it. Although I don't remember you on stage at all.

Until you are a moderator, don't tell me what and where I can post a comment on a thread. Just because you don't remember me on stage, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. lol

Know your facts. Jerome was as much a part of The Family as anyone back then, and in 2003/2004 when they performed together.

Yeah I'm loving the music on this track. Still trying to get used to the vocal on the chorus but loving the song.

I am going to let folks know that songs like "Lover", "Beautiful You", "Vigil", "Drummers and Healers", and "Over The Canyon" are just farkin' STELLAR. Paul and the group are mulling over possibly releasing a 2nd disk in a deluxe edition of the alternate versions of the songs. There are a couple versions of "Lover" (or "Beautiful You"?) that are both excellent. But one really does trump the other. Paul joked that almost all the songs had an 8 minute length on them, so they're sure to chop some stuff, but who knows. 12 tracks x 8 minutes each = 96 minutes. A bit longer than a CD. I hope they squeeze what they can on the album itself. Paul played a lot of stuff the other night on the uStream.tv cam. I recorded some of it (and no you're not getting it - not even you, and especially not you). I am just enjoying listening to the snippets.

Honestly - I'll say this in bold and all caps:

THIS ALBUM IS GOING TO 110% TRUMP THE FIRST ALBUM.

There, I said it.
