THIS ALBUM IS GOING TO 110% TRUMP THE FIRST ALBUM.

I would NOT take that thought process 2 Vegas.

Not sure what that means actually, but ok.

I would NOT bet any $$$ on this project being better than the original Family project.

Jerome is just doing his own thing, mainly with The Time. There's no animosity or anything. He just chose to not be involved with this one.

Still begs the question how Jellybean Johnson will do the same. He's in both groups as well. However, it'd be nice to have both bands tour together, and then the problem would be solved.

Was he really involved in the first one? Were any of them?

Well of course they were, That's Susannah & St Pauls vocals

that's Eric Leads on sax

Mico Weaver played guitar as a sessions musician and performed with them at 1st Avenue

I wouldn't doubt Jellybean played guitars,

did Jerome sing at all on the album? I don't know

Did St Paul play keys or guitar at all? I don't know

I was being sarcastic. I'm just saying everyone knows, without Prince, The Family would have never been. Nelson George said it best, "You don't get produced by Prince, you get a Prince production."

O of course that's why I love the proteges of the 80's, the best ones. All of them interpeted Prince's vision well, I wish we got to see more of Vanity 6 the Family & Mazarati

Hey all! Hope this newsletter finds you welll.

UPDATE:

FDELUXE RELEASES A NEW FREE DOWNLOAD!

OK, we have been bad. We went into hiding for a few months, but that doesn't mean that we haven't been working.

To prove it, we are offering you a brand new song called GASLIGHT, featuring Susannah.

Remember, this is only a rough mix!

Please let us know what you think of it.

SO WHEN'S THE RECORD GOING TO BE DONE?

We were beginning to wonder that ourselves. The good news is that the record is about 80% mixed, so we plan to have the record FINISHED by August 1st. One of our fans called it "the biggest tease ever!" We won't let you down.

THEN WHAT?

Once the music is done, we begin our search for the best way to deliver this music to you.

After 3 long years, we want to make sure that we find someone who believes in this record as much as we do.

Hopefully this process will be a quick one. Wish us luck!

THANK YOU!

On behalf of Fdeluxe, I would personally like to thank each and every one of you for not losing faith in us...

It has been a long road, and we aren't finished yet, but it WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!!

Keep your eyes open on our Facebook page for announcements such as live streams of our recording sessions.

Don't forget about Twitter as well!

Fdeluxe

PS I'm the one who called this a big tease. LOL I also said, "If the album is sex, then these previews and cam streams are major foreplay".

Think the quote applied more to the associate productions of the '90s rather than say Sheila, Jill, or The Family, imo.

"Gaslight" surprised me. It's sophisticated and yet simple, all at once. I love Eric's work on this.

Wendy and Lisa seem to haunt this track, and I mean that in the best way. If I heard this without knowing who it was, I would think it was them...with Eric. The vocals bring to mind the vibe and style from Eroica.

Now...maybe Ernest or Paul could answer this for me. What's the name of the first track that was played on livestream that Jellybean was laying down drums for? Not @8 but there was another track that was just tremendous.

I love the photo as well. The art direction hopefully follows that style with the album.

Wonderful stuff.

Wendy & Lisa are all over the album, so their "haunting" is a good thing, indeed.

I saw Bean doing "@8", and I think "Over The Canyon" that night. They've played so many. I don't think it was "Sanctified", and I know it wasn't "Drummers and Healers".

There are so many great songs on this album.

I think if they get done by August 1, then it could be out by October or November. I'm so over anxious for this album at this point, it's making me nuts!!!! nutso

I'm hoping this out sooner or later, I'm looking forward to spending some time with The Vigil and some candles and a glass of wine. cool

Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.
