And the only thing input I have to this post is...
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck... it's a phcking duck! You can tell your girl I said that.
Spoken like a "playa" survivor.
I will deliver your message. But in this case I think she's saying "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it isn't a duck." Music is for lovers. |

So is it Manuela who's trying to squash the duck or Eric's 'real girlfriend'?

Maybe both. But I think the definitive term here is 'real girlfriend'.
I personally don't see why Manuela would choose to promote the 'duck,' unless there were professional advantages in doing that. And considering that one poster termed them as 'C and D list celebs,' any professional advantage might be questionable.
As an aside I personally don't imagine Manuela's being interested in a love connection.

Prince's songs did get 'butchered.'
Really? I've seen her do it on Facebook. In fact, I once made a comment about something she wrote in response to a post by Mayte - and she promptly deleted her "slag."
I'm clearly refering to this one comment by Mani. Not any others. |

It isn't clear, at all. If you were talking about this one instance, you should have said she "didn't" slag him. Saying she "doesn't" slag him makes it a much broader reference. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

Ok, well thanks for answering my question.
I still think it's weird that Mani would think being seen with Eric would do anything good for her career, whatever it's supposed to be. Most of us were like..."ugh, sleezy Eric Benet?!?!", so to me that's negative attention and I doubt many people outside of the Prince world know who she is, even after her 'relationship' with Eric. But, I guess those who seek fame consider any attention good.

Mani changed her fb pic to one of her and Eric....seems an odd choice for someone who's concerned about the image.

Which only leads to another question: Of all the women in the world, why would Mani be the one he has to take? Why would she even be willing to, at an event like this? I understand Eric may be contractually obligated to show up to these events. Is he also contractually obligated to bring a date? And how does that translate into Mani being there?
P & Mani are obviously cool with each other, she wouldn't have shown up otherwise, I daresay he's well aware of the situation between her and Eric, I would think he's known for a long time.
still makes her look tacky, especially in light of it only being a publicity stunt. A good lamp is the best police. *Ralph Waldo Emerson |

I don't get it.
If Eric and his manager thinks a fake relationship with Mani will help his image and in turn help sell albums... then why is "parties that are hurt by the lifestyle" choosing to "out" the fake relationship on a public forum none the less. I can see clarifying things with personal friends and family... but the public? It seems like she is sabotaging Eric's efforts.
either you are with him and down with him... or you are not. If he has pursued this fake relationship, and it bothers his girlfriend enough that she has dispatched her girls to get the word out... then Eric's girlfriend has a lot more to worry about than another woman pretending to be his woman... she needs to worry about her man's intentions, and devotion to her and their relationship.
Enough said!
The only input I might honestly have to this post is that it could be that the original intent was not to term it as a love match. But it does seem that many man/woman photo ops are consistently interpreted as a couple.
Please. So - when these two agreed to pose together for photo ops they never intended to give the impression they were/are involved in a romantic relationship? They just wanted to stand next to each other like "pals"? Either Mani and Eric are both remarkably naive and borderline idiot (which I don't believe to be the case..) or they knew full well what people would think and THAT'S WHAT THEY WANTED. It's insulting to the public's collective intelligence to now have them claim they never wanted people to think they were romantically involved and to blame "the media" for misconstruing the reality of the situation. Have them go dry their tears of frustration with a few $100 bills or whatever free swag they've accumulated at the most recent parties they attended - and if they wanna hear about some real problems, have them contact me cuz I think they both need a reality check. and many of us are too busy wondering what kind of relationship Prince and Bria are in since we never seen them look as cozy as Eric and Manuela appear. I agree about the hot dog and toddler. Hot dogs are a choking hazard for toddlers. I very seldom let my dd eat them until she was about 5 or 6 and when I did give it to her... I practically shredded it to the consistency of coconut or something like that. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack |

It's good to know that Manuela supports Eric Benet's music. A number of Eric Benet's fans put pics of themselves with him on their FB pages for support--especially with his new cd about to drop. Music is for lovers. |

I don't know specifically what's going on. I don't know Manuela personally, nor am I an FB friend of hers. I'm just imagining that, being a fried of Eric's, she'd also support his music. Music is for lovers. |

I just went back and re-read some of the earlier posts in the thread, somehow I'd missed this one by Adisa:
"Eric was in town a few months ago for a show. My friend who was the sound engineer kept going on about the hot woman Eric left the club with. I asked, "Who, Prince's ex-wife?" and my friend goes, "Is Prince's ex-wife a redhead?"
So is this the 'real girlfriend' or another chica he's sneaking around with?
