Could Cindy Blackman take out Sheila E.?

You know Cindy doesnt just back Lenny Kravitz. SHe has several superb jazz albums. Listen to her work as a drummer and band leader (which tends to mean something in jazz). I dont know that SHeila E could play like she does.

Comments from anyone who has actually heard some of Cindy's jazz work. Check Music For A New Millenium.

Boy oh boy do I really hate to say this. I really am hating what I'm about to say. Sigh. But....I have yet to see a female drummer play music that I really want to groove to. And I'm a woman! Im sorry. I'm all for women being able to do everything that a man can do, but we really need some talented female drummers added to the mix. Now with that being said, I think Cindy does a wondeful job with Lenny Kravitz....but when you listen to her drums solos -ahhhhh not very impressive. I just can't follow her groove. It's kinda like all over the place. This is just my opinion.

Sheila E can play the timbales well. But she's another one that I just can't really get into her drum "groove" when she plays drum solos. This is not by any means to suggest that these women can not play the drums, but I'm just saying that im not fond of either of their drum solos. Both appear to be good while backing a band. Drumming seems so complex, but there are guys who can beat the heck out of those things and make ya want to shake your booty...QUEST LOVE!!!!!!

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I'm assuming this is the same Carla Azar that was Wendy and Lisa's drummer?

Went to Youtube and found no drum solos from Carla Azar. Just a couple of songs from Autolox that I wasn't very fond of and some "basic" drumming in one of the songs. So if anyone has a link to her playing the drums please post.
