With all due respect, Levi contributed mightily to the ever increasing blandness of Prince's music imo. Dez, Wendy & Lisa - he ain't. I wish he had just stayed in Sheila E's band.

he became Prince's "go to guy" to "finish" songs. The same way W&L were in 85/86, Ricky Peterson was in 94/95, and then apparently Kirky J was in the mid/late 90's.

Levi's a good musician, but I see him as one of the major influences that got Prince away from pioneering sounds and experimentation to immerse himself in and try to master more classic sounds, namely blues and jazz, etc. Which is both good and bad.
