Greazy Meal

So, does anyone have anything new on this band? I recently found their album, tucke away at the back of a cupboard, in a shopping bag full of bootleg casettes and shit... I put it on... slow songs apart, a wonderful Madhouse-esque record. BUT, anything new?

To my knowledge they haven't been a band for quite a while and probably won't be. The last update to their site was 4 years ago. Tommy Elms is obviously busy being in The Administration, so he's not part of it.

I saw them live at First Avenue in Minneapolis in 1997. First time being at First Avenue, and first time seeing them live. I somehow got two free tickets. It was an awesome show.

There are actually four Greazy Meal albums:

Visualize World Greaze
Digitalize World Greaze
Gravy
Universe's Baby

The last one came out in 2004. But so far as I know they've now broken up for good.... sad

I don't have any of their albums. I wish I could find them in the usual places.

The other two albums are both proper stand alone albums - not more remixes... Track listings as follows:

Gravy
In & Out / Love One Another / Time / The Question / Return My Heart / Forgiveness / Too Cold / You Might Find A Man / Gravy / Grieve / Transitions / Greazy Collage II

Universe's Baby
Universe's Baby / Mountainside / M.L.I.C.P. / Supernatural / Keep It Together / Goodbye Everything / Fight Pray Love / Feels Good / Horizon / I Can See It Too / Stay / Everythang Is Everythang

There's a defunct website still up, which has lots of information and lots of dead links to soundclips:

I've never heard of them. What's the association to Prince?
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

They're not associated with Prince directly. They're an incredible funk/pop band. Tommy "Barbarella" Elms played keys in the band after the NPG (that version) broke up.

Brian Gallagher also played on some Prince stuff.

I went to high school with a couple of the band members.

By sheer chance I found one a few months ago at a pawn shop in perfect condition for $1 eek
Love when that happens.

Agreed. I've ran across a few personal trinkets over the years that way. I try to stay silent about it, especially in a used store, lest they see my glee and try to gouge me on the price. haha

Thanks for the further details... I suppose I'll have to try and hunt them down now! ... right, how do you find a Greazy Meal album in New Zealand?
