Wendy & Lisa score with 'Nurse Jackie'

Former Prince & the Revolution members Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman (a k a Wendy & Lisa) have been in demand in the TV world of late, doing score work for NBC's "Heroes" and "Mercy" as well as Showtime's hit series "Nurse Jackie" with Edie "Mrs. Soprano" Falco. The latter gig has been prominent enough to have now spawned a CD made up entirely of their music from the show. "Nurse Jackie: Season One Soundtrack" came out yesterday on Lionsgate Music and can be sampled and downloaded here. Like the show itself, the music is often edgy, dark and playful at the same time.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yay! I love Nurse Jackie. And when I heard the theme for the first time, I thought.. That sounds like Wendy & Lisa... I can honestly say I've never done that before when there's no real vocals in a theme tune!

It's fantastic. I happened to catch the start of the first episode, noticed it was Showtime (who make Dexter - One of the best series ever), and watched it on a whim. It's quirky, dark, funny and the morals are all a bit blurred.

The only thing is, it only lasts for about 22 minutes per episode, very short.

Hunt it down if you get chance, I think it will definately be your sort of show.

If you're not hooked after the first episode, I'll eat my hat. And I'm wearing a sombrero.
