Let's say that I got a nice new turntable for Christmas... And, let's say that since then, I have been working my way through my vinyl collection and have been converting lots of stuff to digital files. And, let's say that that includes a lot of Prince proteges, Paisley Park Records artists, artists who have been produced by Prince, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy & Terry, Andre Cymone, etc. And, let's say that there are a lot of non-album b-sides, extended mixes, dub mixes, etc. And, let's say that in a week or two, I'm going to start releasing a lot of this stuff as torrents on a certain torrent site... Would it be acceptable to post here when I release my torrents with info about what is being released and a link to where the torrent is? I mean, after spending all the time I've spent and the amount of stuff I have left to do, what's the point if I can't share it with like-minded folks, right? But, I don't wanna break no rules or anything so, someone (a mod) chime in and let me know if this is all cool. Thanks!

He was correct in his statement. It would not be acceptable (read the forum rules, as they are quite clear). It reads:

He's also correct in that ALL that stuff has been ripped by people, ad nauseum. There are many bootleg compilations out of those 12" versions, the B-sides, the 12" B-sides, and associated artists. There are also CD rips of the associated artists that were originally distributed on CD.

well you've both been quite helpful in reminding me why I haven't bothered posting here but 4 times in almost 8 years, a simple "it's not acceptable" was all that needed to be said, back to lurking...
