"Time Waits For No One" - remember Mavis?

I recebtly found an old "mix tape" (that's what we old coots used to do before CDs and Ipods) that had "Jaguar" on it from Mavis' Prince-penned album.

Who else loved that album? What were your favorite songs?

Unfortunately I don't know where my original cassette is, and I haven't located the tracks (or a CD) on Amazon to buy. sad

But it's a great album-!

Not all the songs were Prince penned. A good deal had another song writing team on them, and it showed. Some had that old school vibe, and some where pure Prince. Good album, but the diversity of writers was very obvious song to song.

Good album. But I like the Voice (her second PP album) a little better.

I prefer The Voice. I saw her do a show at Glam Slam Minneapolis in 1993. Then went to a private party (and show) at Paisley Park the same night. The next day she was at The NPG store signing autographs. Those were the days!

Killer album! I have the CD and cassette as well as the 12" of "Jaguar/20th Century Express".

"Come Home" is my favorite song on the record! PRINCE is all over it!

still have this CD, and like it much better than "The Voice". The whole CD is good, but I have to say the standouts were "Interesting", "Jaguar", "Train" and "Time..." If I remember right, "The Voice" didn't have any Prince production, just other Paisley Park members filling in... I found it kinda boring.... It didn't take to me like her "Time..." CD did.

I love this album & bought it on vinyl the day it came out - really love her husky voice with the paisley park sound and the songs 'time waits for no one' 'come home' & 'I guess I'm crazy' are some of my very favourite songs he has worked on with other artists.

This album is great. My favorites are Interesting, Jaguar & Time Waits For No One. I even have the two music videos (20th Century Express & Time Waits For No One) in my collection. Mavis got a lot of love from BET's Video Soul during this album and 'The Voice'. Donnie Simpson always had her on and played her videos. He even showed a snippet of her recording 'God Is Alive' and asked her about the lyrics.
