Did anyone take him serious though as a singer that would actually go on and have a catalog?? "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Gheez, we should just give Nick his own sticky on here. He's suddenly "relevant" because of those band members. No one would give a shit otherwise.

Someone needs to tell the Jonas Brothers that there are other ways to make chords besides full Barre chords.

He's not very good but it could also be that he's only 17 and lacks "real" musicianship experience?
I actually think that the only one who has the potential to become a "star" is this dude: Joe? He doesn't try to pass as a real musician (nick) and is not as boring as the older brother (who recently got married). I've seen videos of them performing, and this dude is a pretty decent frontman. Plus he's the less fugly of the three...I think. I am simply better than you...end of story.

DUH
he is cute though, he really grew into his looks(and lucky him cause his brothers are fug, especially the oldest) he should model instead of sing. [Edited 1/17/10 22:48pm]

Yup, your totally right. Truthfully, I really didn't care about Nick Jonas until the NPG joined him.

This article really deserves it's own thread... if only to give Ernest a cerebral hemorrhage. ...
Nick Jonas: A 'President' who recalls a Prince The youngest Jonas brother brings his Minnesota-flavored Administration to town. By JON BREAM, Star Tribune Last update: January 16, 2010 - 11:34 PM Nick Jonas placed the phone call himself. That's not unusual for a 17-year-old. But it is uncommon for a teenage pop superstar who has had minions waiting on him for four years. Nick -- the creative force of the Jonas Brothers, still darlings of the Disney empire -- is a take-care-of-business guy. He's earnest, hardworking and reliable. After the interview was delayed by an impromptu recording session Tuesday, he called on his cell, right on time. He and his band, Nick Jonas & the Administration, had decided to record "Stay," a tune that Nick finished on piano at sound check one day and the band performed that very night. "Stay" will not be on the group's debut, "Who I Am," due Feb. 2. But Nick promises they'll play it Thursday at the sold-out State Theatre in Minneapolis. The album was recorded last spring in Nashville during a break in the Jonas Brothers tour. Nick had written some songs that just didn't fit the Jo Bros. "There are deeper looks into my personal influences," he said from Boston, halfway through his band's 14-city trek. "People like Elvis Costello, Stevie Wonder and obviously Prince played a big part in this record." Or, as Administration drum- mer Michael Bland explains: "The music is stripped down and bare, along the lines of John Mayer and Lenny Kravitz even. There's much more room for expression from the instruments -- lots of guitar solos and even drum breaks -- whereas with the Jonas Brothers, they're after very produced pop masterpieces most of the time." Yes, that's Minneapolis' own Michael Bland, former Prince sideman and current Soul Asylum drummer. He's part of the Administration along with Twin Cities keyboardist Tommy Barbarella and guitarist Sonny Thompson, also former members of Prince's New Power Generation. Rounding out the band is John Fields, the Minneapolis-bred bassist and now Los Angeles-based producer who helmed the past three Jonas Brothers albums as well as the Administration's debut. The name, Jonas explains, is a tip of the hat to Elvis Costello & the Attractions. It also reflects the nickname his brothers have given him: The President, because he's their main music writer. 'Older than his years' After playing with brothers Joe (age 20) and Kevin (22), how does Nick feel about working with a bunch of guys old enough to be his father? "I don't look at it that way," he said, chuckling. "Age is not something that I think about too often. We're all having fun and we have a level of respect for each other." When the veteran players are in the studio with the boss, does it seem like he's 17? "Only when he looks impressed," Bland said with a laugh from their dressing room in Boston. "He's definitely older than his years. ... He's not really a goofy kid, and he's not verbose. He's much more of an observer, and that's what makes him a good songwriter. You have to be more interested in what's going on around you than what's going on in your head. As a musician, you have to be more interested in what your neighbor's playing, not what you are [playing]. He's obsessed with his craft." Bland said this project feels more like a band than a star with hired guns. "It's refreshing for all of us because we're working with someone who wants our input, and he's judicious about the direction he wants to take," he said. "It's fun for him and for us. He's getting a chance to build something." Fields, who is sort of the Administration's chief of staff, put the band together. Jonas lavishes praise on him and his choices, calling Fields a great friend and an amazing producer. As for Bland, who also played on the last Jonas Brothers album, Nick said he's "one of the most talented musicians I've ever met in my life. Not only is he a great drummer but an amazing vocalist and his knowledge of music is incredible. It's very humbling because he's got perfect pitch." Jonas sees Barbarella as "the quiet genius who sits in the corner with his keyboards and fills in all the spaces." Thompson was a late addition because guitarist David Ryan Harris, who played on the album, is touring with John Mayer. "Sonny brings so much energy to the show, and he's so electric," Jonas said. "His style of playing is very different from anybody I've ever met before. " Jonas took his presidential responsibilities seriously, coming up with about 20 song concepts worthy of his Administration. "Using presidential titles with double meanings or metaphors was a challenge that I wanted to tackle," he explained. "Only four of them stayed: 'Rose Garden,' 'Olive and an Arrow,' 'Conspiracy Theory' and 'State of Emergency.'" Owl City is a favorite Jonas will complete his tour before the album's release because "the timing just worked out this way," he said. "I always like to try new stuff first on the road. It creates an environment where you have to win [the crowd] over." In concert, the band will play all the songs on its debut plus a few Jo Bros tunes and some covers. And Nick offers a solo set, which usually includes "Fireflies," by new Minnesota act Owl City. "Of all the pop songs from last year, that was probably my favorite," he said. His older brothers have shown up at four shows so far ("they're very supportive"), but performed with him only in New York. They'll see plenty of each other two days after the Administration tour ends; that's when the Jo Bros will start shooting the second season of their Disney Channel show "Jonas." Also in the works: the sequel to their TV movie "Camp Rock," filmed last fall. How long will the Administration last? "Who knows? I think the exciting part of this project is that it really can co-exist with the Jonas Brothers," Nick said. "To be part of two bands that I'm very passionate about, and that I hope both have a bright future, is a great thing." Kevin Jonas got married in December, Joe Jonas has been pursuing acting opportunities, and Nick is leading the Administration. Will things be different when the Jonas Brothers reconvene? "It's going to be very different from any year we've had in the past," Nick said. "This is going to be a year of learning. We're looking forward to each moment."
