Extended Shortberry Strawcake?

On KBLX in SF this afternoon (102.9) they were broadcating live from a comedy club and in the background you could hear they playing Shortberry Strawcake while they interviewed this comedian.

It was a fairly long interview and I listening hard to hear the music and at one point it sounded like there was a part I didn't recognize with either extra guitar or piano(!) in it.

Is there some extended version of this song besides the album track?

That's on of my all-timne fav Sheila E songs.

If there's an extended version out there, I want it!

Didn't Jesse Johnson actually get credit for writing that instrumental?

It's one one of Per Neilson's book.

Jesse was asked about the writing credit on Shortberry Strawcake. And he said he had nothing to do with the song.
Apparently Jesse had let Prince listen to a drum track he was working on. Jesse later heard that same track on Sheila E's album and it was the track for Belle of St. Mark.
Prince gave Jesse writing credit for Shortberry Strawcake in return.

I've always said that "Shortberry Strawcake" is one of the funkiest things Prince has ever recorded.

The funny thing about all this is that back in the day "Strawberry Shortcake" got nominated for a Grammy for best instrumental. And I remember Jesse being quoted on how pleased he was that his composition was nominated for an award. lol
