I know I should know this, but what are the outtakes from the A6 album? I didn't think there was an A6 version of Glamorous Life circulating. I guess Manic Monday, but are there more? | |

I guess Manic Monday, but are there more? there is manic monday, vibrator (plus the spoken word overdubbed parts), the prince version of a million miles, the vanity 6 version of sex shooter, and the 12" version of drive me wild (the video version is longer than the album version, but shorter than the 12") by vanity 6, and a track known as "wet dream cousin" that has a similar bassline to wet dream by vanity 6, and of course take me with u album version and longer outtake, as regards to better stuff they could have used i wonder if they will do a vanity 6 version | |

Yes it's a counterfeit. I have that particular CD. I bought it off eBay a few years ago, I think I paid about $30 - yes, I knew it wasn't the real deal when I bought it. I just didn't want to pay the going rate for a legit copy, so I settled. It's a vinyl rip - not digitally sourced. The quality is fine, with a few pops here and there.
I have a vinyl copy, so I could have ripped my own CD... And now with the fast interwebs and it's Flac files, this stuff is only a download away.If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

And now with the fast interwebs and it's Flac files, this stuff is only a download away.that's pretty poor. i thought the choice of tracks would have been to keep the quality high, so taking mostly cd sourced material, with the album being a straight pirate i suppose you can always just rip and make your own compilation. both the vanity and appollonia albums fit on 1 cd with space to add one or two bonus tracks, but in the digital world you can just compile all the tracks together without worrying about sorting stuff into 80 min chunks. so many people listen to music on portable devices or computers rather than flat round things now | |

I did a CD transfer of a pristine vinyl copy a few years ago, purely for my own listening convenienve...I basically did a mastering job with a slight boost of low end frequencies. Even by my own admission, it sounds great. It seems to me these days that eBay are letting more and more bootlegs go through. That site's going downhill very rapidly. | |
