As for Vanity and Morris Day, Prince put both of them in the BEST POSSIBLE situation to have successful careers, and they both self destructed from drug use. I feel like Prince set both of them up to be stars, and when it came time for them to take the wheel, they crashed the car immediately. But for sure everyone can agree Prince's choice of side projects after about 89'-90' were all pretty terrible. [Edited 6/19/09 16:19pm] In respect to what you said about Morris & Vanity I think Prince might have indirectly had a hand in what happened to them I know at times it was friendly competition But when Prince would thow it in Morris face in live sessions that basically Prince was "morris day" that that stuff can be belittling especially coming from a friend. Prince's in your face cheating and control/manipulation when it came to Vanity had a bad effect on Vanity I don't think they failed or that they didn't have what it took | |
