If you'll check the link that I included in my original question, you'll see that he was requesting donations up front to write a follow up book, which is the one that I was asking if it ever came to be. In that ploy for the loot, he was saying that if people sent him money, he would finish writing the book by the end of 2008 and ship said book by the beginning of 2009. Perhaps I should extrapolate from that that no one sent him any money. But I figure, a mass emailing like that, some die-hard fan, with a few dollars to spare, would have had to have sent him something. He even offered to buy dinner for the person that sent him the most money (no doubt with the money THEY sent him, lol), AND on the condition they could find their own way to Nashville. Leaves me to wonder what his mindset must have been to have sent that kind of thing out in the first place. Must have been in a fairly desperate place in his life. Hopefully, he's in a better place today. I always saw him as the edgiest member of that original lineup. In fact, Prince introduced Dez as the one with the dirty mind. Now THAT's a scary thought (...considering the messenger), lol. But then again, that wouldn't be the first time Prince could be accused of projection. | |
