I preferred Brownmark. He has said little since leaving Prince in '86. I would love to hear from Dez too but I want to hear from Brownmark and I am sure he have a lot to say.

Mark would also be very cool to hear from. I totally agree, he has not said much since leaving P. A few quotes here and there in a few books on P. I'm very sure he has an interesting take on his period with Prince. He was only 18 when he joined P's band in 81 and his first major show was with them opening for The Stones. That HAD to be ESPECIALLY hairy for him being the new kid (literally) on the block. By the time they hit with the PR tour, Mark probably felt like a veteran. Among many things, I would love to ask him why didn't he have ANY lines in the film Purple Rain. I mean, the cat didn't even get to sneeze. He was the ONLY member in the band to not say SHIT and I always wondered why that was.

Yeah I would like to hear from Brownmark. I had chatted with him briefly on facebook but mostly about introduction of like where I was from and he seem like he love living in Tampa. His skills are underrated as a bass player and he did what most ppl could not do is to play and dance at the same time without missing a beat or cue. I hated how Prince treated him but on the other hand Prince definately gave the man his props as a bassist. From the way BM appeared on his facebook, he isn't shy or anything so I am assuming he must not get the same interview requests like some of his former bandmates.

Yeah, I used to mention that on here all the time...About Mark dancing step for step with P during the song When Doves Cry live on the PR tour. All the while, slanging and popping on the bass. I've always dug Mark's bass playing and he's always been my favorite bassist that Prince had. His bass playing on the Mazarati album is KILLIN'.

I always wanted to know why the only brother in the band got no lines. What are the odds? In the early 80s, everyone was concerned with crossing over - I am sure that is the reason for Wendy and Lisa's big part in the film. It appealed to the prime record and movie ticket buying demographic: teenage white girls.
