OMFG! Hahaaaa! Let's say... we all get married??? LOL! See??? They are just fucking awesome!!!

This whole media blitz for White Flags has just been such a joy to see, not to mention how great listening to the album is. But this interview??? The two of them just chilling on the couch with Renata asking orger's questions? Brilliant. Funny, informative, touching, insightful.

Thanks to everyone who made this happen. I hope I can catch the ustream live.

Maddy. . . OMG. . . that was adorable. mushy

Does anybody know if / where I can get to see last night's show again anywhere online?

I caught some of it but had to switch off and go to bed. (UK listener!)

Well...given their soundtrack work, I would say they are a shit-ton more relevant than Prince at this point.

Sorry to say it, but I agree. Heroes is still seen as a current, vital show and probably will be for a long time. Prince would struggle to match that sort of connection with the worldwide public these days.

When you think about it, last time Prince connected on a worldwide scale like that, it was because he appeared on the Batman soundtrack. How ironic! And even then, who actually noticed any of his music in the film?! But at least he was attached to something major - a Warner-released summer blockbuster movie that broke box office records.

As I said, sad, but very true...

Nope, I saw it. But that proves my point: most people in England didn't see it. You gotta remember guys, the Superbowl isn't a big deal over here. So whilst it may have been a major coup in terms of reaching big audience, I guarantee you a lot of British general public don't even know he did it.

Hence my point: Heroes is an American show, and is HUGE over here.

OK, maybe we're getting crossed wires here: all I was suggesting was that W&L are PART OF something massively popular and current (ie. a major worldwide hit show like Heroes).

I'm not suggesting that's the reason people tune in, but Prince hasn't been connected to anything (since the late 80's) that has been popular on a worldwide, crossover scale. For example, there's even a W&L feature on the Heroes DVD bonus features. And that's one hell of a popular DVD, amongst Prince fans, W&L fans, and people who have no interest in either. But they're there, talking about music to a mass audience. I bet there's been more copies of that DVD sold than Lotusflow3r CD's.

Now, please don't hurt me!! lol

It is not even that serious. If u think W&L are remotely more "pop" that Prince in any way, shape or form, more power 2 u. U take W&L's career output, I'll take Prince's.

Nah, I didn;'t mean that. Prince will always be Prince in my book, and I'll take his music any day over W&L - I don't even own a single thing thing they've done without Prince. I was just raising the point about them happening to be connected with something more ... oh bokocks to it, I'm so bored with this!

my take in this whole squabble is that prince has obviously left the bigger imprint in the big picture, but in the here and now, wendy & lisa are doing a heck of a lot more than prince. right now is a great time to be a W&L fan but just kind of an okay time to be a prince fan. but in the big picture, it goes without saying that prince will be seen as the bigger iconic figure. shrug

Define here and now. Last I checked Prince recently has released a 3 cd set, a London gig, a Vegas gig, Planet Earth cd, and 3121. In that same time frame W&L has released Chimneys and scored a TV show. Did I miss anything?

yeah - scoring another tv series for Showtime, scoring a previous tv series "Crossing Jordan" and "the Bionic Woman",the upcoming Fox series Virtuality, A Heroes soundtrack (which was based around the themes from the show but extended), collaborated with Grace Jones for her 2008 album Hurricane, scored the movie Something New and both had babies.
