But you really should always watch what you say on forums like facebook cause there are plenty of people who sign up to be your friend and you don't know if they are the Craiglist killer or what. She shouldn't have said anything about P if she has moved on in her life. As far as his views on any lifestyle what does it matter what anyone else thinks be it a famous person or your old next door neighbor. Live your life and be happy with it. Some are down with people having different lifestyles and some are not. According to you guys heroes Wendy n Lisa Prince is a fancy lesbian whatever that means. razz

People shouldn't post anything on these social networking sites that they wouldn't want widely spread and/or known. And that especially goes for those people who will add almost anybody who requests as a "friend", and grow their list of friends into the multiple hundreds; you don't know who you can really trust and who you can't.

Very true ...I think people request certain people to be nosy.Next there will be a thread saying Mani and Mayte are friends on FB etc.

No oh smart one he was praising Mani I told him why he should not be singing her praises. Had he been praising Prince I would have mentioned that he was married.

Anyone with a lick of sense knows P is a dog he tells you so in his own music.

I know artists whose music is not all about their own personal lives, so I never assume what is said in music is all biographic and true. I guess Mayte should have had him read lyrics than take vows so she could figure out what to do...

He was going with Carmen and Nona while he was seeing her. You don't think that should have given her a clue? Most men tell you exactly what they are about sometimes we woman don't want to see what is crystal clear.

But when Jesus came 2 Earth and offered up his life as a ransome sacrifice his death put an end 2 those dogmatic old Laws and rituals, and he gave us new "laws" to live by, such as Love for one another and even for your enemies and he told us that Love should cover all aspects of life and Jesus told us that our first love should b towards God and if we truly love God first and foremost in our lives, then we should know Him as a person and what he requires of us as human beings and we should know what God loves and hates and one of the things he hates is illicit sexual acts!!!!

You just contradicted yourself! Either you reject the "old laws and rituals" or you don't. If you do, then your 2nd bold statement is now void because calling homosexuals "illicit" comes from what you just rejected (i.e. what you call "The Old Covenant"). You can't have it both ways.

I don't want to stray this off topic, but let me say, as a gay born-again Christian, that I do read the Bible literally. HOWEVER, I also understand the origin of words, and I study that. I know that "abomination" and "unnatural" were NOT used in the sense in which the right wing church (a type of church I grew up in, mind you) uses to instill fear and guilt and shame.

PREACH IT! smile It's a shame most right-wing fanatics don't bother to learn the Bible in its original languages (i.e. Hebrew and Greek). Maybe they'd learn the word "abomination" or in this case the original hebrew word which gets translated as "abomination" is believed by Biblical scholars to mean "Not part of our ritual" or "not fitting with ritual".

That is why things that seem pretty random to us in modern day (e.g. not eating certain foods like pork, not wearing linen and wool, etc.) all get called "abomination" or rather the Hebrew word. They are things which are not fitting with the ancient Israelites' rituals (and possibly/probably fitting with the other tribes' in the region rituals from which the Israelites wanted to specifically differ from).

That is why Right wingers can never answer why eating lobster or wearing a linen/wool sportjacket is an "abomination" like being gay becauue they don't even understand what they are quoting.

Brilliant!clapping clapping clapping

(I'm in a course right now on faith that requires learning the original Greek and Hebrew of bibical text...it's kickin' my a**, but has made re-reading the bible an enriching and profound experience, and I'm convinced that there is no way you can really unlock the meaning of what is being said in those books unless have some basic Greek and Hebrew as your foundation. Folks are just 'runnin 'round spouting and spewing bibical quotes without understanding what they're saying at all)

word. the torah has no vowels or spaces between words. it's basically a very long number. every word and phrase has a numerical component that is completely absent from translations.

It's been probably 10 years or more since I looked at an actual scroll but I think there are some spaces....between words that is. But you are right on the no vowels thing for sure.

let's not paint Prince's ex's as victims, please! You don't think that they know his history, what they stand to gain by association.....

Most seem to have done 'very well thank you' since moving on after their five minutes of fame. Further, some go on to have exactly the same sort of relationships straight after!

Prince is hardly known for his manogamy is he! Yet, there's alawys 'the one' who thinks they can change all that, then plays victim when they can't.

Tiresome.

LOL @ at people blowing one comment out of proportion. Chick doesn't have to keep her mouth closed if she doesn't want to. I dare any of you stone casters to apply that same logic to your own lives. Everyone has comments about their exes. You all just get extra sensitive when it comes to comments about Prince. Since she posted it on her facebook, she obviously meant for it to be somewhat public - at least to her circle of friends.
When you think about it, it makes sense, too. Prince, who has a lot of gay fans but who claims to be a JW probably WOULDN'T be as openly forward about commenting on gay marriage as Miss Cali. He'd stand to lose more money making a public comment on such a controversial topic. Mani didn't say anything WRONG, she was just being forward about something she probably has first hand knowledge of - his feelings towards gay marriage.

It's not hard to know what P thinks about gay marriage and for a fact what most people think about it. That is why when there is a vote by the people it doesn't get passed. I think it is time for folks to not really care what HollyWeird thinks on things as much as what the true God the only God thinks on these things and grow as people. I'm sure they know what he thinks on gay marriage and they don't really care because they like his music like all of us here do. I like lots of people that might not have the sames views as I but when it comes down to it they are not my life sorce God is and for me it really doesn't matter I know what is right and wrong and so do they. We will all stand b4 God and he will be the one to have the last say on our lives. I think people are taken back by Mani because they can see the mean heart that was behind those comments. We could ask Prince alot of things that might get some fans very upset about his view but really does it matter? Just listen to the music and thats that unless he has a personal relationship with you I don't think things like this should matter.

No he is wrong but they were stupid. I also don't feel sorry for anyone that runs around with a married man. If he cheated on his first he is going to cheat on the second wife.

He already made a public comment that he claims was taken out of context. So WTF are you talking about.

A lot of people are not keen on this chick's goldigging, manstealing, hypocrite of a woman.
She was a JW so at one time she was not to keen on gays either. What did she do suddenly change are mind when she got the divorce?

If you don't support gay marriage, that automatically makes you a homophobe? If you don't believe in interracial unions, does that mean you're a racist?

No you can dislike something and not hate people. If we don't watch out this gay marriage issue can turn into a suppresion of ideas and opinions because people are going to be bullied into keeping their mouth shut for fear of attack.

He also 'hates' divorce.
Maybe you shouldn't be supporting Prince at all, according to your Bible anyway.
Malichi 2:13-16
Deuteronomy 24:1-4

Old Testament, I know, so how about this?
Romans 7:1-4
1 Corinthians 7:10-16

Even Jesus called divorce SIN! (Though Jesus apparently said nothing about homosexuality.)
Matthew 5:31-32
Matthew 19:3-9 (Mark 10:11-12; Lk 16:18)

Prince has been divorced twice, you know. Surely one 'sin' isn't greater than another?

There are a lot more references to divorce in the Bible than there are references to homosexuality, and they are much clearer in their condemnation of it.

So maybe you should stop supporting a divorcee since you don't wish to condone lifestyles that go against your scriptures.
I'll tell Adam & Steve you said 'Bye!'

What are you trying to say??

And btw, its' not like ALL black voters backed gay marriage ban. That statement in and of itself borders on prejudice, and is definitely an overgeneralization.

As is "white gays dropped the N word".
