Also, in various other passages of the Bible there are quite extensive lists of certain types of people who will not b wanted in Gods new earthly Kingdom, which is soon 2 come, and homosexuals(whether male or female) are included with other such types as fornicators, idolators, thieves, rapists, murderers, drunkards, the list goes on!!!!!

also people who don't obey their parents. So i guess we're all doomed, eh?

One nice thing about JW, the "soon 2 come" part sounds soooo like Prince wink

I think what Mani is doing is great...Prince is a blatant homophobe who needs to be called out once and for all. You have Perez Hilton and now Ellen praising him...but do you think either one would be welcome at HIS dinner table? Not in a million years. Prince preaches to them how being gay is EVIL, that is why he reads the bible to them. I am happy Mani came out about this and is letting people know that he is an extremely flawed individual instead of him always looking golden in the public eye.

Manuela...Hats off to you my dear! It is about time somebody came forward!

-----
You don’t know P from Adam and you can’t go by what you read in the media. I don’t know to many homophobes who employ gay people on a regular basis, and associate with them in social gatherings. In addition, he works in the music industry it would be impossible for him to work if he hated homosexuals. I think he may have been misquoted in the article because everybody has as an agenda now a days which much more important than being honest.

You also have no idea what goes on a P’s bible study you can certainly dislike a person’s behavior without hating the person which is what any true Christian would be glad to tell you but like a lot of people you don’t focus on real ordinary Christian people just the extremist nut cakes you see on some television program.

I also think you need to rethink your praise of Mani who ran around with a married man is happy to live off of his money.

also- Prince ran around while married! oops- do we not mention that?

No oh smart one he was praising Mani I told him why he should not be singing her praises. Had he been praising Prince I would have mentioned that he was married.

I know artists whose music is not all about their own personal lives, so I never assume what is said in music is all biographic and true. I guess Mayte should have had him read lyrics than take vows so she could figure out what to do...

But that was the old Law Covenant. But when Jesus came 2 Earth and offered up his life as a ransome sacrifice his death put an end 2 those dogmatic old Laws and rituals, and he gave us new "laws" to live by, such as Love for one another and even for your enemies and he told us that Love should cover all aspects of life and Jesus told us that our first love should b towards God and if we truly love God first and foremost in our lives, then we should know Him as a person and what he requires of us as human beings and we should know what God loves and hates and one of the things he hates is illicit sexual acts!!!!

You just contradicted yourself! Either you reject the "old laws and rituals" or you don't. If you do, then your 2nd bold statement is now void because calling homosexuals "illicit" comes from what you just rejected (i.e. what you call "The Old Covenant"). You can't have it both ways.

I don't want to stray this off topic, but let me say, as a gay born-again Christian, that I do read the Bible literally. HOWEVER, I also understand the origin of words, and I study that. I know that "abomination" and "unnatural" were NOT used in the sense in which the right wing church (a type of church I grew up in, mind you) uses to instill fear and guilt and shame.

PREACH IT! smile It's a shame most right-wing fanatics don't bother to learn the Bible in its original languages (i.e. Hebrew and Greek). Maybe they'd learn the word "abomination" or in this case the original hebrew word which gets translated as "abomination" is believed by Biblical scholars to mean "Not part of our ritual" or "not fitting with ritual".

That is why things that seem pretty random to us in modern day (e.g. not eating certain foods like pork, not wearing linen and wool, etc.) all get called "abomination" or rather the Hebrew word. They are things which are not fitting with the ancient Israelites' rituals (and possibly/probably fitting with the other tribes' in the region rituals from which the Israelites wanted to specifically differ from).

That is why Right wingers can never answer why eating lobster or wearing a linen/wool sportjacket is an "abomination" like being gay becauue they don't even understand what they are quoting.

That's pretty sad.

People shouldn't post anything on these social networking sites that they wouldn't want widely spread and/or known. And that especially goes for those people who will add almost anybody who requests as a "friend", and grow their list of friends into the multiple hundreds; you don't know who you can really trust and who you can't.

Very true ...I think people request certain people to be nosy.Next there will be a thread saying Mani and Mayte are friends on FB etc.

Hey .... you're the one who's said "reject the old rituals". So either you do or you don't.

And re: the Ten Commandments. So you're saying you reject the Old Covenant but still want to keep the 10 Commandments such as "Thou Shalt Not Steal"? Well then, you better keep the Sabbath in the literal sense too (part of the 10 Commandments)and not light fires etc, chop wood, etc on Saturday. I"m going to assume that is not the case. So what is it? Or do you reject only some of hte 10 Commandments but keep others?

Look, of course people can make decisions for themselves about how they personally want to observe, that's a personal choice.

But you were using Scripture to justify things and then contradicting the same verses you just quoted! You can't have it both ways.

Well, all Jehovah's Witnesses feel like that about gay marriage. It is part of their doctrine based on their interpretation of the Bible.

As Mani was baptised once, she too, must have accepted it or pretended to? Granted, she could have struggled with the issue.

Mani is quite correct in what she has written in terms of Jehovah's Witness belief. However, this is not Prince specific.

You're not really using "Adam and Steve" are you? LOL That's SO 1984. Betcha got "When Doves Cry" on repeat too.

It also says if a child misbehaves that you should stone him, and that you should not eat pork. And that a woman on her period is unclean for 7 days and should stay away from every one.

You can't cherry pick what you like and prune away what you don't.

First off he is right and he is not cherry picking. You just don't like the response he gave which is right.

Exactly, I don't see anyone making excuses for him, when we don't really know how he stands on that issue. lol The comments are more geared toward everyone's curiosity as to what her intentions, if any, were or are for posting a comment like that out of the blue, where she had to know someone would take it and run with it, even if she does have the right to post whatever she wants. At the same time though, others have the right to question it. I mean it was posted on a public forum and you know how that goes. lol

So it seems his views are more important now that she's pissed at him.
