So funny, I actually thought the same; in some parts it does remind me of Janet.
I may be uncool for saying this but I do like Elixer a lot.
It's not just smooth and Jazzy like general background music, like some reviews said.
Just listen to Immersion, It is not following any regular scheme for popsong writing.

I dig it:))

Bria's voice reminds me a little of "Lisa Keith."

I think "Elixer," is very pretty. "All This Love," is my favorite. cool
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Not uncool. I enjoy it myself. I just wish I had a great local jazz lounge to sit at and listen to it. It would be perfect.

haven't felt inclined 2 give it a go yet, but have listened very briefly..although i know my bloke has given it a longer listen..
her voice isn't terrible but doesn't convince me either.
i think prince should have kept a couple of those songs & maybe given her 'dance 4 me'..just keeping it real wink

I think the lady definitely has potential. Her CD is a wonderful example of what Prince can do when he really puts his mind to it. I like her CD more than Lotus Flow3r, but that's just where I am for now. I hope this isn't their only collaboration. It's not Sade, but I would love to see Home or All This Love get a proper single release. Tonight sounds like mellow club music if that is possible.

The title track on Bria's cd is perhaps the best song on all three disks.

Very good songs. So-so vocals. The songs are all over the place, and her voice changes to suit each one, but remains underwhelming throughout.

However, I like the songs so much (except for 'Another Boy'shake) that I listen to it a lot more than I thought I would.
Her voice isn't bad, it's just bland. (like the drummer, where the real drummer?)
