Martika I couldn't see a thread on Martika
Why is this? I don't know much about her or her collaboration with Prince How did it come about? What the hell happened to her? Why doesn't she come up in threads? I am of the "kids incorporated" generation, and was quite a fan of this girls solo career. I think she was one of the few 'proteges' that could sing.... does she count as a protege if she wrote her own stuff too? did she re-record what prince gave her (I know most of the other proteges didn't)

There were four tracks produced by Prince that appeared on Martika's Kitchen:
Martika's Kitchen Spirit Love...Thy Will Be Done Don't Say You Love Me Several other tracks were worked on for possible release on the record including Open Book which was eventually released on Jevetta Steele's solo record.

I'd like to see more about Martika, too. She's got a lovely voice and a unique beauty. The last I heard she was in a band with her husband (Michael Mozart) called Oppera. Does anybody know what she's up to now?

Love...Thy Will Be Done was the SHIT! her vocals are awesome and the instrumentals are breathtaking. Why wasn't that a smash hit?

From what I remember, it was. I can't speak for the whole country, but when I was living in Phoenix, it's all they could play that summer. Rest assured though, if it was a Paisley Park release, it would have failed, outright.
