Was Vanity's "Samuelle" about or for Prince? Can someone post lyrics? Aside from "Under The Influence" this is my 2nd favorite Vanity song. It's so hauntingly beautiful. I was just wondering if this was written by Vanity? And for or about Prince? Such clues in the song "this is your lover calling" and "I'm calling my shadow"....makes you wonder. Didn't Prince get quoted as saying Vanity was the mirror image of him? I's been 3 years since I heard this song, I had the Vanity casette tape and put it up some place. Who else likes this song and can anyone post the lyrics. Thanks ! I wanna b ur fantasy and maybe u could be mine!

I've always assumed that this song was about Prince. At one point, she even mentions "the Prince and the showgirl" The song is sad and wistful,as if she hasn't (yet) come to grips with losing him.

And it's one of the sloppiest lyric sheets I've ever seen. It's handwritten and some of the words are scratched out where an error previously was. Andy is a four letter word.

"Samuelle" lyrics:
(written by Vanity,1984) Samuelle, this is your lover calling,Samuelle Samuelle, this is your lover calling Samuelle,do you belong to Marilyn? I know she could never love your heart like me I'm quite sure we belong together Oh Samuelle, you cannot tell a lie it echoes across the moon and the sky Valerie,Valerie,Valerie, this is your conscience calling Valerie,Valerie,Valerie,I don't wanna hear ya I do recall carnivals were filled up with crazy guys and paper dolls Thought it would last forever Oh Samuelle,I'm running down the aisle wedding lace was written all over I really want you,I really do I really love you,rap on door rap on door, ring bell, ring bell naughty little thing,we may never know the prince and the showgirl wonders if never, ever Oh Samuelle,I cannot tell if I sing to you, will you ring my doorbell? Ring my doorbell,I really want you Ring my doorbell,I really do Ring my bell,I really love you Time will tell all those nights I sat up alone and stared at the phone well I'm calling my shadow, calling Samuelle I cannot let you go I've thrown all the snowballs I can throw Oh! Oh! Ooh hoo hoo I know you love me,you can have me if you want to

Vanity wrote the lyrics to all of those songs....it's her own personal copy of the lyrics...she just had them print it as it was to give you something more personal. Vanity is an Enigma...so original. No-one was like her at that time. The gorilla fur and lace...who would've thougt of that? So beautiful in everyway. So bad Ass for the Pirate outfit she wore on American Bandstand. She did it her way. She was so witchy...wasn't she? I loved that about her, so withcy and haunting...alot of her songs were haunting....I so love Vanity and what she was all about. I cannot see Apples even coming close to her in anyway.
Vanity knew what she was and what she was capable of. So gorgeous was she. No one else like her....no one could dance like her...she left Susan and Brenda in the dust...on stage while performing...Makeup...did you see how Vanity effortlessly did those dance moves...and had so much style and sass to it...while susan/brenda were struggling to keep up. She left Vanity 6 because she knew she could do more and was woth more than what Prince was giving her. She was a leader just like he was and two leaders always crash and burn... Vanity's beauty was unearthly. Her eyes are so large and clear...very dream like....she had the perfect lips and the perfect ass....so pretty...so fine...so perfect was she. Her face was perfection...her cheekbones were out to here.....her peferct smile and her vampire teeth.....i so loved her Goth side. She was a total Goth....so eeerie and vampiric....so much like a vampire witch....mirror mirror tu relflect cest moi.....

I remember a Playboy interview on TV where she was talking about him being one of the most romantic men she'd been with. Then she said, 'I've had a few'. So who knows> If that book ever comes out, perhaps we will know. Wishful thinking!! Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.
