Preventing Morris Day and whatever incarnation of The Time from singing the song "Girl"?

I've seen several live performances of Morris Day and whatever incarnation of The Time he had with him, over recent years and they have ALWAYS just performed the intro chords to that song and moved on.

I'm asking because I was at a Time show a few days ago and they asked the audience which "slow song" of theirs did we want to hear? I'm damn certain the consensus was for "Girl" yet, they only played the intro chords again. Morris didn't sing one single word and it got me thinking.

So does anyone here know? We know how Prince is tripping so it wouldn't surprise me but I'm just wondering?

When I saw them in Vegas on the 24th (June), they performed almost the entire song. I am just wondering if Morris can still hit all those notes consistently.

I've seen the Time do the full version of Girl several times. 2 of the 3 Vegas shows I saw they did it. They just haven't been doing the full version recently

Oh, ok! I was really beginning to wonder because the last four times I've seen The Time in Detroit, they've only teased us with the opening chords of "Girl".

Now that I know they can perform it without you know who tripping on them or something, I'm really pissed off because to see them perform that song is the main reason I keep going to see them!
